Her stomach dropped as Li Na grabbed the phone and dialled. The line barely rang before Xinyi answered.
"Explain, quick!" came the voice—sharp, clipped, and furious.
"I—I don't know!" Li Na stammered. "I didn't leak anything. What exactly did they say?"
There was the shuffle of papers. Then Chen Xinyi read, her voice cold:
"GQ Entertainment has been made aware of a potential breach concerning confidential materials related to an upcoming film project. We are formally requesting clarification regarding the involvement of actress Li Na in this matter."
"Trust me, I haven't shared or disclosed anything," Li Na said quickly—but even to her own ears, the words rang hollow.
