Li Na slowly sat up, careful not to disturb the man beside her, his imposing frame stretched out mere inches away, even in sleep his presence undeniable.
She stole another glance at him, at the way his lashes cast faint shadows against his skin, at the slight parting of his lips as he breathed evenly. Did he always sleep like this? So still, yet carrying tension even in rest?
"Li Na!" Lu Jun-hui's exasperated voice snapped her back again and Li Na instantly covered the phone.
She exhaled sharply, pressing the phone back to her ear. "I'm listening," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper now. The last thing she wanted was to wake Lu Jianjun.
"You don't sound like it," Lu Jun-hui huffed.
A deep exhale sounded beside her. And Li Na froze.
