The following week on Wednesday while Joseph walks along the corridor towards his classroom Catherine approach him saying "Joseph can I speak to you for a moment please? "yes sure why not" he answers "if you are still mad at me about last Monday I am really sorry especially getting ketchup spilled on your shirt" she says expecting Joseph to flip out on her but instead he says "it's okay it isn't something to worry about, "it's just a shirt and some ketchup no life lost" Catherine smiles then she ask "can we hang out at lunch today? Joseph pauses for a while."yes we can but only if you promise you won't act crazy" he answers gently while he smiles at her. In her thoughts Catherine says "wow he's much cuter when he smiles" A few minutes into their conversation Amanda walks up and hugs Joseph from behind while she says "good morning handsome! "good morning beautiful" he responds, then the three of them walk and enter the classroom. Half of the day passes unknowingly beautiful now bell rings and all the students in the class with excitement yells "yes lunchtime" and rushes out of the classroom excepting Joseph, Catherine, and Amanda and in that awkward moment, Joseph says nervously "I'm not staying in here with the both of you, "it looks like y'all wanna rape me" the three of them laughs then Joseph leaves. Five minutes after leaving the classroom there comes David "Joseph, Joseph! Catherine is calling you meet us by the football field but first you have to find Andre." then he responds to David saying "cool because she did ask me to hang out with her at lunch so I tell her I'm going by the football field to eat my lunch first, and if she wants she can join me there, "by all means if anybody else asks for me you don't know where I am! "okay cool" David replies then they proceed on they separate ways. On the top of the main stairs he bump into Andre and Desmond and ask them to come with them with most accurate explanation. While Joseph, Andre, and Desmond is walking towards the football field, in his thoughts he says "shit why she had to ask him to look for me? damn it...what to do, what to say? "uhuh I know what I will do" While walking towards the football field David was standing at the north entrance the three of them walk towards him. Seeing the three of them approaching David says to himself "cool the gang's on there way, she ask me to bring Joseph and Andre not Desmond so what should I tell her when she gets here? After a few minutes while waiting for Catherine to show up Joseph and Andre freestyles while Desmond makes the beat, Catherine approach Joseph the same way as she did the day before just before and she signals to Desmond indicating him to say nothing. Joseph in agony "Catherine this is the same damn thing and the reason why I flip out on you last week you know" then he holds her hand and says "come on have a seat let's talk" then turn to Andre and Desmond and say "Catherine and I are going to chill for a bit" Desmond and Andre respond one behind the other "no prob's bro" while Joseph and Catherine walk up to the third row of the pavilion from where Joseph was seated. Catherine in her thoughts says to herself "oh my gosh he can sing wow I have never seen this side of Joseph! "hmm! "I think he would of flip out or even curse at me because I make him mess up the song he was singing and on top of that even what happened last Monday and as he usually does but instead he speaks to me so calm and gentle! "I wonder if it is because his friends are here? "but then again we all are in the same class! "hmm! "he probably feel bad about how he flipped out on me last Monday or he could even like me more than I think" Joseph looks at her curiously and ask "what the heck are you plotting there? Catherine laughs, stutters and answers "not...nothing! "it's nothing! "I'm not plotting anything" then she asks "why do you think that I am plotting something? "nothing really it's because of how you have your face" he answers then he asks "so what are you thinking about I would really like to know" while he flirts and smiles at her unknowingly. Catherine replies "I was just wondering why all of a sudden you started to act this nice to me" with the thought of flipping out on her Joseph smiles and asks "so you rather me being mean to you then? "hmm! shakes his head and continues "why can't I be nice to you for a change? "I'm not saying that you shouldn't be nice to me in fact I am loving the mood you are in" she answers then she asks while she whispers in his ears. "is it because of what I said to you last Monday or because our friends are here? before Joseph could answer the question the voice David interrupts them while he enters the pavilion he says "why can't you two find a fucking room" Catherine responds "oh shut up David" and Joseph follows "ah!! boy nothing is going between the two of us we are just friends" David responds "just friends you say? Joseph replies "boy what the fuck are you implying? "not a thing" David answers with a taunting voice then he asks "if nothing is going on between the two of you why are you so sweet to her all of a sudden and why she looks like she was just about to kiss you? Joseph shakes his head, laughs and ask "what's the problem are you getting jealous David?" then he says "by the way you know her all your life and it shouldn't be a problem if she wants be close to someone else or someone new" he pause for thirty seconds and continues "oh shit you are in love with her" he giggles while he says "don't you dare deny it and wait any longer, if you love her let me know so that I can back out" and in his thoughts Joseph says to himself now is the time to pick his brain I must once and for all put these two together while David stands in shock and saying to himself "holy shit I wonder if he realize that he just told us he likes Catherine" then he answers "we have been best friends ever since we met in preschool and that's all we've been ever since" Joseph reply "so that's all to it...tiy don't have feelings for her? "hmm! "nigga that is something to start with I know it take along time to realize that you have fallen in love with her...bro be honest yourself and let her know how you feel" Catherine looks at Joseph in shock by the what he said to David, before David could reply to Joseph she turned to David and says "last Monday while you told me you saw Joseph hugging me I can tell you wasn't pleased about it and you started to act differently, "you didn't even say three good words if possible you didn't even say anything to me after that, "David be honest with me" then she ask "you have any feelings for me? "you love me David? he stands nervously takes a deep breath while he swallows his spit and by interceding into the conversation the voice of Desmond and Andre echoes at the same time "boy answer the fucking question" and Andre continue saying "of all the things you told us about her, how you feel about her...now you get the opportunity to do so you freezing up, tell me this...you really going to be a chicken in this moment? don't tell me you are going to wait until she is in a relationship to tell her you love her! my friend don't be a fool do it while you can, you never know she might definitely feel the same way about you, you will never know until you do what you suppose to do but then again why the fuck you think she ask the question in the first place? "I get it alright! well let me answer the question, gosh" he replies then he turns to Catherine and says nervously "Ca, Ca, Catherine yes I do have feelings for you" he paused for a while he continues passionately "ever since you kiss me on my eleventh birthday my heart changed from liking you to loving you" everyone is in shock they looks at each other then at David and yells "was that so fucking hard!!" but Catherine stays silent walks up to David and kisses him exactly how she did on his eleventh birthday then walks back to Joseph hugs and kisses him for a minute and thirty seconds after asking everyone if she can do so. Before she kisses David passionately for about five minutes then she says to Joseph "from the first day of school when you walked up to the class room door and says good morning everyone, "the first thing that caught my eyes is your lips and your eyes since then the only thing that have been on my mind is wanting to kiss your beautiful lips and that is the reason I kissed you awhile ago, "from today David and I will be a couple...this is because of you...thank you" she takes a deep breath and continues "Joseph the reason I ask you to hang out with me it's because I really do like you and I wanted to know you better and even ask if we could be more than friends but the thing is I feel exactly the same way about David as he feels about me and I've been waiting a while now for David to tell me he loves me so Joseph not because I want to be with David our relationship should drastically change, "honestly one of the happiest moment in my life is today and it's all because of you Joseph, "oh what would I do without you, "oh you are such a sweetheart Joseph smiles and says "first of all I'm not a sweetheart second I am a gentleman and third you are too crazy for me, David will be able to handle that" while he looks at David he says "no hard feelings" then looks back at Catherine and says "besides David is in love with you and on my behalf he is the better man for you as far as I know" after responding to Catherine he says to himself "yes Joseph you did it yeah you did the right thing" then to his friends and the new potential couple "hey y'all I'm out" Desmond respond "so because she wants to be with David, because they are making out as we speak, you decide you are leaving" Desmond Stewp's his teeth and continues "that's lame bro! "damn! "you really do like her? "yes I do like her but not in the way you may think ... if y'all want me to honest it would be really nice if Catherine is my girlfriend so for your information I have my eyes on someone else and on the contrary I just want to pee so that is why I'm leaving a matter or fact I don't think will be back" he replies and leaves. After leaving his friends to use the bathroom instead of going back to them Joseph goes to look for Amanda, there she is as she stands at the top of the stairs on the corridor leading to the classrooms. "Hey, beautiful," he says "hey hun! she replies while they embraces each other then she asks "where have you been? "I was by the football field with David, Desmond, and Andre" he answers "oh because I was asking for you for the past twenty minutes and no one seems to don't know where to find you "she responds "how is your lunch break going so far" he ask to deliberately change the subject to prevent him from bringing up what has happened on the football field, "it was boring until you show up" she answers while they blush with each other then she asked "so what were you guys doing down there? "Andre and I were freestyling while Desmond was making the beat" he answers he tries to change the topic once again he asks, "you think Catherine did get jealous last Monday?" she contemplates for awhile then answers "honestly I'm not sure if she did" then she ask "so what about you what do you believe? "for one I believe in GOD and on the other hand I don't think she would." he answers, out of curiosity Amanda ask "but how are you so sure she wouldn't?" Joseph stays silent and Amanda continues "every evening when we are going home on the bus you are the only thing she babbles about and somehow she always gets to sit behind me "hmm oh really? well I am not sure if she did or didn't but I believe she has her eyes on someone else!" Joseph responds then he ask "but why are you still worried about Catherine and the feelings you think she has for me?...I thought I told you last Monday and many other days after that, that I have no feelings for her?" "yes you did and I am not worried about Catherine" Amanda answers, Joseph cut her off by saying "Amanda Andrews the only girl I love is you" "I know you love me and any girl can love you all they want but until I leave this country I will not let anyone of them have you" she replies with a devious smile Joseph's heart skips a beat, he takes a very deep breath and responds "what do you mean by that? "seriously you are giving me the creeps" Amanda turns to him and she stays silent while in her thoughts "damn it why did I say that? "I can't let him know now! "gosh why he have to look so dismayed" then she says "I'm just saying I love you too much to let another girl take you away from me" he smiles and kisses her then says "if we feel the same way about each other we shouldn't make anything hinder us from being together and as you say love me well if you love me just let me love you because I love you too" she smiles and kisses him then say "you always know just what to say" smiles and continues passionately that's one of the reasons why I love you, "but the real reason I fall in love with you is because of how you just being you, "even though sometimes it seems like you have a lot going deep within you, "you are always truthful about your feelings" Joseph smiles and stays quiet. With nothing to say Joseph stares at Amanda while she speaks in a way that she will think he's admiring her, by realizing that Joseph is staring at her and with the thought of something is on her face she ask "what happen? "Is something on my face? "no nothing is on your face" he answers "so why are you looking at me like that" she ask curiously "can't a man admire the girl he loves" he responds rhetorically, Amanda blushes and stays silent for a few seconds then ask "why you never tell me you can sing? "honestly I don't know probably because it never came up" he answers "so can you sing me a song" Amanda ask just to see if he would sing and he says "yes I will do anything for you my love and let me make myself clear not because I say anything everything you ask me to do I will do because it depends on what you ask, "OK, "I'm going to sing let me love you by Mario, Joseph clears his throat then starts to sing but after singing one verse and chorus he gets disrupt by Andre hanging his books and bag for him and he says "damn it Joseph you can sing bro that was really good" then he ask "so the church you goes to...you sing in the choir? yes I do but not right now" he answers Amanda, Desmond, Catherine, David and Andre coincidentally ask at the same time "why would you stop" and Amanda continues "we all heard how lovely your voice is, Joseph you are really good at it! "I know I'm good at it" he responds "so why did you stop? Amanda, Desmond, Catherine, David, and Andre coincidentally ask again at the same time, Calvin who is the drummer went to university for while now, so until he is back I'm the only drummer they have" then Catherine and Amanda ask "why did you start drumming?" "I because no one else can't play the drums, "from what I see nobody didn't want to play the drum so I got mad and take up the sticks and started to drum, then the pastor ask me to play until Calvin returns. "so this is why you were so desperate to leave the football field" Desmond ask Joseph while embracing him and whispers "you have damn good eyes bro" while he looks at Amanda and smiles with Joseph then the bell rings Amanda holds Joseph's hand and says come on let us get to class" then they all rush to their classroom and at the end of the evening classes the teachers announce that in two weeks they will start their trial exams and on Friday there will be no evening class but the school will dismiss at its usual time.
