Yuki looked at those people in front of him. They were probably residents of the village, all with lightweight prosthetic bodies. Yuki recognized one of them as the village's second-rate layabout, the idle sort.
Although these loafers caused all sorts of trouble, they were different from Enoch back in the day. Enoch was heavy-duty construction machinery, earning a high income, and he didn't have a family to support, so he lived quite freely.
But these second-rate troublemakers just loafed around; when they were close to starving, they would do some odd jobs to trade for some "Copper Candy." After all, the village's solar panels were public property, and if there were consecutive sunny days, the excess power had to be released, or it would damage the storage equipment, so they were never in danger of starving to death.
