Benjamin Swantz looked down at Mallia Mamet's mischievous eyes and, of course, knew exactly what was going on in that little head of hers.
"If you keep talking nonsense, do you believe I'd actually put you down?"
Being put down was fine by Mallia Mamet; she wasn't afraid at all, even swinging her legs.
Benjamin held her tighter, knowing he shouldn't get angry.
"Sorry, I won't put you down. I was just a bit shocked, shocked by the wild ideas you have in your head."
Mallia Mamet was no longer uncomfortable upon hearing this because it seemed that her own strange ideas weren't so annoying to him after all.
"It's totally reasonable for me to be curious about why you live here! You were the one who said this place is filled with powerful figures from all walks of life. So, living here, does that mean you're one of them?"
Mallia genuinely couldn't picture Benjamin as a figure of overwhelming power because when he met her, it was with eyes full of admiration.
