Prologue
~Two Decades Ago~
This isn’t supposed to happen…
Placing my hand over my swollen belly, I wait patiently for Silas. He had left with Pollux to get medicine for Pandora. Her tiny frame lays before me upon the pink sheets of her bed while Trixie sits by her side. I didn’t consider how bad the situation was for them here on Earth until I returned. My brother’s request to see me was more dire than I realized.
And the guilt that fills me now is almost too much to bear.
Trixie had done her best to be a luna, mate, and mother. She pushed herself to the breaking point, but nothing prepared her for what is happening to Pandora. It wasn’t until well after she was born that we realized her connection to the powers her father once had, and it has made her too dangerous to remain on Earth.
“Cassie—I can’t just leave.”
