Hope.
The one word I never expected to come true because it’s the only thing that has kept me alive over the last few years. Hope that eventually I’d be able to fix the issues I’d created by taking on my brother’s powers. Hope that our children will one day be able to live normally. Hope that my family will one day be whole again. Deep down inside, a part of me has begun to lose that hope I so desperately sought for as long as I can remember.
Having my life torn from one place to another while I watch my children grow and family return, only to realize that my life isn’t my own has been harder than anyone could ever imagine. And to top it off, not all of my mates have been as understanding as I would have liked.
Not that I can blame them.
We never imagined any of this to happen.
