SUMIRE
Even though Toh has been doing his best, making her feel like she deserves to live like a normal girl, and showering her with genuine kindness and love. At the back of her mind, Sumire understood she would never truly be able to accept it.
After a few minutes, Toh finished patching her up, pulled her into his lap and switched the TV on. When did he even put a movie in the- Sumire paused. Right, he cleaned her place beforehand.
Seeing the romance movie playing on the screen, Sumire turned to Toh with a glare.
Toh chuckled. "Is something wrong?"
Yes! There is, this movie he is playing is rated R18 for a reason. The more she gets to know him, the more the gentleman facade vanishes. It was the same with Sano too, but it really is different with Toh. Sano used to make her feel guilty if she refused his touches, but Toh doesn't do that. She can see his frustration but he doesn't throw insults at her.
This person is different.
'And I knew that from the very beginning. No matter how much I tried to convince myself that he would end up hurting me like everyone else has.'
She needs to stop acting so stubborn, at least when she is with him. Sumire takes a deep breath before burying her face in his chest.
Toh runs his hands up and down her back, one hand on her thighs giving her soft reassuring strokes.
"Is the movie too much? We can skip over the explicit stuff if you'd like."
Sumire shakes her head. "It's okay."
'Since I'm with you it's okay.'
Even though she wanted to be honest, it's still not easy for her to do so. The words won't come out of her mouth so easily. But, there is no need for her to say anything. Toh gently kisses her forehead as though to respond to her words.
"You know beautiful, I've been doing a lot of thinking recently."
"Regarding?"
Toh chuckled seeing her obvious interest. "Would you like to buy a house with me?"
Sumire's cheeks colour. "H-Huh? A-a house?"
"While I know you are comfortable staying over at my place, it is too far from your school. For a while I know you haven't been comfortable in your own home."
Sumire froze. He really does know her well.
"I've been getting odd nightmares about a strange guy who is supposed to be dead." Sumire admitted.
Toh's gaze hardens. "And he's been assaulting you?"
H-how does he even know that?
Toh exhales deeply. "Beautiful, have you forgotten what my profession is?"
His pro-oh!!
"I have dealt with many assault cases, and your reaction was too similar." Toh trailed off. "At first I thought it was that bastard again, so I dropped by to see him. But, he insisted that he hadn't seen you since that time."
"Oh."
"So, I watched your reaction more closely, and understood you only got that expression on your face whenever you slept in your home." Toh trailed off. "I asked my boss about it, if it was possible."
Toh's boss is 'Lucifer' isn't it? If it's that man surely he will have the details.
"What did he say?"
"It's possible, if the one doing the assault is a mind user."
Sumire blinked. A mind user? That guy. Odd enough, it would suit him. After all, Akishima was the type of bad guy who manipulated others with his words. He manipulated them so well, almost like he understood their inner feelings. If Akishima is a memory user, it would explain many things.
Like how he managed to rile up Yuhi-san who is normally so calm, and how he is manipulating her in her weakest state.
Sumire extended her hand out and rummaged through her drawer and pulled out a file. She passes it Toh. "The man on this case file, do you know him?"
'Is he a member of the black alice organisation? Because he only started appearing before me, when the organisation became active.'
"Not personally. However, I've seen him with my boss, but only one time."
"When?" Sumire asked. But, she felt like she already knew.
"A few years back, to be exact-"
When Toh said the time frame, Sumire wanted to laugh. Of course Lucifer is part of it too, part of the group who caused Yuhi-san the most pain.
Toh leans forward and kisses her lips lightly. "Is he the one doing this to you?"
Sumire slowly nodded.
"I'll do a bit of digging around. Granted I haven't been in the organisation as much recently, so I can't say for certain he hasn't come back. But, I can say after that time I first saw him, I never saw him again afterwards. So, I assume whatever deal he struck with the boss was a one off thing."
'I suppose that makes sense. Akishima wasn't the type of person who would tie himself to a group. He is used to being in charge, and manipulating those to do his bidding. Akishima must have realized he wouldn't be able to do that with Lucifer.'
"The reason your pretty face is filled with anger, is it to do with Terashima Yuhi?"
For a moment Sumire assumed he entered her mind again, but recalled he was holding the case file in his hands. "Yes, back when Yuhi-san was a member of the Holy Knights. This man Akishima caused him many issues. Even though Yuhi-san was my partner, he had a dear friend he was close with and often went on jobs with."
"Akishima killed him?"
Sumire flicks to the next page. "It's more like he got someone else to do the job for him."
She watched Toh's expression turn cloudier. "This guy, is another type of crazy."
Sumire blinked. "Should a psychologist be so blunt?"
Toh exhales deeply. "No. But, when it comes to you beautiful. I become an irrational male."
At those words she giggled. "Seeing you like this, does things to me." She wraps her arms around Toh's neck. "Even if I don't say so directly, I'm sure you understand how I feel better than anyone else."
Toh's body tenses. "What exactly are you referring to beautiful?"
"My feelings." Sumire whispered.
She didn't wait for a response before she bit his neck and started to drink his blood.
An act that used to disgust her, but now there is something precious about it. She really has had many firsts with this person.
'I don't know how I am going to live without him anymore.' Is it an exaggeration? Others would say so. But, she truly doesn't know how to live her life anymore. Being with Mashima Toh has become an essential part of her daily routine already. How is she simply supposed to go back to the days where he isn't around?
The more blood she drank, the more aroused she felt. Sumire knew Toh was under the same dilemma, since she felt his hands lift her skirt but paused.
'He is so different. But because Mashima Toh acts this way, it makes me have twisted thoughts. What will it take to break him, and do I want to see that side of him?'
If she sees it, can she pretend that he is just like the others? That he isn't anyone special?
If she does that, will she be able to let him go?
