He takes a deep breath and squeezes Sumire's hands. "If you see him, you two should talk."
"I-I don't want to leave you Toh." Sumire started.
Toh nodded. "I understand beautiful. But, ever since we got together. You have been avoiding mentioning Terashima in front of me, and while I appreciate your consideration for our relationship. Bottling up those emotions isn't good for you."
Sumire bit her bottom lip, and her amethyst coloured eyes water. "S-sorry, I-I just thought-if I said anything-"
"That I would leave you?" Toh finished for her.
Sumire nodded. "I-I know you're not like San, Toh. And even when I talked about having someone I liked before, San never took it seriously. At least in the beginning. But, after he learned about Arashi-senpai's feelings for me, he suddenly remembered what I said."
"He misunderstood and thought you were referring to Ichinose."
Sumire exhales deeply. "I don't understand how he came to that conclusion. But, he did and often criticized me. I understand Toh, that you're nothing like San. However, because I've experienced it before. It's difficult not to be afraid. Afraid that your warm gaze would one day turn cold."
'And I get it, that's exactly why I didn't want to pressure her.'
"I think that's impossible beautiful. I always have interesting thoughts when I look at you, that leave my gaze rather heated."
Sumrie pounds on his chest with her hands, and she mumbles. "Idiot." She trails off. "Toh, do you think Yuhi is getting himself involved in this mess, because he knows Lucifer wants me?"
'Even Sumire can see that Lucifer wants her, and didn't I realize it after the incident in the hospital? Lucifer paying special attention to Sumire. That was obviously the hint I needed.'
Anybody can see it. Even Terashima, who is all the way in Tokyo, noticed.
Not just him but all the members of the underworld. It's no wonder Sumire was called to attend that meeting. The others in the underworld must be wanting to question her. They may even think she is Lucifer's spy.
'I wonder why this never crossed my mind before. But, Lucifer's interest in her can be easily misunderstood.'
"If you're in danger beautiful, I would do the same."
"Then, do you know what your boss wants with me?" Sumire mumbled.
She is being really straight forward today. Although they have established that he is a member of the black alice organisation. They haven't discussed many details.
"All I know is, he wants to make you his wife and he seems to believe he has a claim on you." Toh chose his words carefully.
It would be suspicious if he said anymore than this. No normal lackey would be privy to such details. Even this information may be too risky to share.
Sumire frowned. "I wonder, if it has something to do with the accident I was in when I was a child."
Toh frowned. Now that she mentions it, when Sumire told him about the accident she mentioned the dark shadow that was following her. Back then, he already thought it sounded like the Lord. If it really was Lucifer? Then he must have marked her somewhere.
'I've slept with Sumire so many times, and I haven't seen a mark like that. But, it's the only explanation to her story and Lucifer's claims.' There is one way to know for sure, but it's been a while since he last used that ability.
"Toh? What do you think?" Sumire asked.
"Do you trust me beautiful?"
Sumire nodded immediately.
Toh's eyes widened at how quickly she responded. Shouldn't she have thought about it at least?
"Can you help me with my missing memories?" Sumire said, understanding.
"My mind ability covers a large range of things, from controlling people, simple mind speak and memories. Although I am not an expert on the last one. It's something I can do."
"But?"
Toh frowned. "I haven't tried it in a long time, so before I use it again. I want to make sure it's safe."
Sumire grumbled. "I'm an evolved human and a hanyou Toh, I'm sure I will be able to handle it."
Toh kisses her forehead. "I won't take any chances with your safety beautiful." He trails off and laces their hands together. "It won't take too long. Once I know for sure we can try it."
There are plenty of people he can experiment on in Lucifer's dungeons.
"Okay but, don't overstrain yourself."
Toh chuckled. "This is rare, are you worried about me?"
Sumire's cheeks colour. "I-I mean, normally you're so sensible. You never do anything reckless. So, I don't really have many opportunities to scold you." She stammered.
Indeed, between the two of them. The reckless one has always been her. It's true doing this is risky, he hasn't used this ability in a long time. Because he feared Lucifer taking advantage of it. It's bad enough, that he has to break into people's minds and crush their souls. But, if Lucifer learned he can manipulate memories too?
The damage he would cause would be horrific.
'And I wouldn't be able to disobey him either.'
Before Toh could say another word, his phone started to ring. At first he ignored it. He wanted to take advantage of Sumire's blushing state to kiss her, but the ringing wouldn't stop.
Frowning, Toh picks up the call.
"Get over here immediately." Lucifer snapped.
"Boss, you know how I work. This is extremely short notice." Toh said.
Lucifer exhales deeply. "Then at least watch and read the files I'm sending over."
"Alright, I'll reply once I have gone through everything." Toh quickly ended the call and turned to Sumire. "My boss is going to send me something, there seems to be trouble at the organisation."
Sumire tilted her head. "So, can I see it too?"
Toh chuckled. "It's probably one of your people causing chaos for us. But, very well." He immediately opened up his message history, to see Lucifer had sent him a video.
Toh felt his body tense, because on the thumbnail was an image of a familiar man.
