Chapter 42 - 42 We Are Fated

As the morning breeze blew through the morning south of Hmagol, Chinua and her four men began loading their belongings into the wooden wagon. Just as Khawn was about to jump into the wooden wagon, Chinua grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back.

Khawn asked, "Does Chinua need anything?"

Chinua looked at Khawn and said, "You are on horseback today."

Khawn said, "I don't know how to ride a horse yet."

"So, you have to practice," Chinua said. "Anyway, if you want to work under me, riding is a must."

Jeet was giggling not far from Chinua and Khawn. "Khawn, everyone, big or small, must be able to ride a horse. If we were to go to war, seeing you sitting on a wooden carriage and fight your enemies would be totally ridiculous." He broke into laughter.

Chinua looked at Jeet's happy face. "Don't laugh too early. Today is your job to teach Khawn, and tomorrow it will be your job, Naksh," Chinua said, looking at the two brothers.

Naksh walks towards Chinua and Khawn. "Why is everything you do related to us?" Naksh asked.

"We're going to be together for a long time, so we have to get to know each other," Chinua said. Chinua looks at Khawn, Jeet and Naksh. "Help me exchange my horse with Khawn's horse."

After the two horses were exchanged, Khawn jumped on the horseback. Jeet and Khawn lead the way, and the others follow.

"Control your horse with your feet and the leash and command your horse to go in the direction you want the horse to go," Jeet said nervously, looking at Khawn on the horse. "Don't worry, let's take it slow today, and I'll teach you how to ride more steadily tomorrow."

Khawn said, "Thank you."

Jeet said, "Don't thank me yet, thank me after you can ride freely."

Chinua led her horse to Khawn and said, "Once you are used to riding a horse, then you must practice archery on horseback."

Khawn said, "I'll do my best."

Naksh smiled and teased, "Do your best? You have to do more than your best."

Khawn nodded innocently and said proudly, "I will do more than my best because I don't want to disappoint Chinua."

Jeet and Naksh looked at each other and suppressed their laughter silently.

Chinua said, "As long as you try your best, I will not be disappointed."

Hye looked at Khawn and said indifferently, "Although Chinua told you this, you have to remember that one day Chinua will take you to the battlefield. It is your job to ensure that every task Chinua gives you will not fail. Having said that, if you can't kill the enemy on horseback, then you are not worthy of following Chinua."

Khawn nodded. "I'm still breathing, I have two arms and two legs, and I can meet Chinua's expectations of me," he said confidently, looking at the desert land in front of him.

Hye smiled innocently at Khawn and said encouragingly, "Keep it up, kid. If you don't keep it up, your first battle will be your last."

Chinua slowed down her horse. She looked at Hye and asked, "Why did you say that to him?"

Hye said, "If you show him sympathy, he will think it's leniency and he will not try to push his limit." He looked at Chinua. "One day, when you make a life-or-death decision in the real world, your decision must be firm. If your orders are not firm and decisive, who will obey your orders in the future?"

"We are not fighting, we are training to ride horses," Chinua said. "And there is nothing wrong with showing sympathy to my men."

Hye said earnestly, "Whether it is horse riding training, rowing, or life and death, if your decision is not decisive, the result will be a catastrophic failure." He emphasized his tone. "While Naksh is training himself to ride a horse, you also need to train yourself to make quick and efficient decisions."

Chinua frowned, "Your tone sounds like third brother."

Hye smirked and said, "Good…at least one of us is. You know I am right, and General Mönkhbat is also right."

Chinua said, "I know you two are right. I never said you were wrong."

Hye said coldly, "Don't argue with me."

Chinua said, "It's good to have you to enlighten me when I am confused, but it doesn't mean you can speak for me on everything."

Hye said, "In this way, if the general listens to the advice of his adviser, he will win ten times in ten battles." He looked at Chinua and smiled proudly. "If the general does not listen to the advice of his advisers, nine out of ten battles will end in disaster." He glanced at Chinua and smirked proudly.

Chinua saw the expression on Hye's face, and it made her angry. She grabbed the riding crop beside her and spanked Hye's horse buttock. The horse lunges forward in pain.

The dashing horse gallops ahead. "Chinua! Just wait!" Hye shouted, and the horse continued to accelerate. He held on to the saddle as best he could to keep from falling.

The four people laughed at Hye for trying to stay on the horse. "You also have to train yourself to stay on the horse's back when it gallops," Chinua called after Hye, her laughter echoing through the dry desert.

Naksh said, "Khawn, Hye is a perfect example of when a horse goes crazy. You must always be ready." Naksh said. He looked up and saw Hye's horse walking slowly towards them. He took a closer look and found that Hye was not on the horse's back. "Chinua!" He pointed at the horse.

Chinua looked towards where Naksh was pointing and saw that Hye was not on the horse. She galloped forward. Chinua reached out and grabbed the rope. She looked at the three men worriedly.

The four of them hurried forward, fearing that Hye would fall off the horse. As they approached, they saw Hye standing motionless in the middle of the road, watching them.

Jeet snarled, "You are so kind, you actually made fun of us."

Hye's lips trembled and said, "Back away, don't come any closer."

Slowly stepping from Hye's side. Drystan smiled weakly. "Come forward and I'll chop his neck off," he coughed. He looked at Chinua and giggled. "We are fated, Magoli."

Chinua looked at Drystan and demanded, "Let him go."

Drystan said, "Give me some water and food...and then I will decide whether to let him go or not."

Chinua looked at Drystan's trembling legs. She grabbed the leather waterbag and walked toward Drystan. "You can barely stand up, what make you think you can defeat us?"

Chinua slowly walked closer and stared at Hye. Hye stared at Chinua closely, then rolled his eyes to the right. Hai's eyes looked down, then turned to the left.

Chinua stares at Hye to give the final signal. Hye closed his eyes, then opened them. At this moment, Chinua threw the leather water bag towards Drystan. "Here is your water," she shouted, rushing forward.

Drystan quickly stretched out his right hand to catch the water bag. Hye grabbed the arrow on Drystan's left abdomen with his right hand and pushed the arrow deeper into Drystan's abdomen. He quickly escaped from Drystan's control. Drystan screamed in agony. Chinua kicked Drystan hard in the stomach, and Drystan feel to the ground grunting in pain. Drystan clutched his abdomen and groaned in pain rolling and cursing on the ground.

Chinua rushed forward with the dagger in her right hand. Just as Drystan was about to sit up, Chinua's blade was already pressed against Drystan's neck.

"Move and you die," Chinua warned.

Drystan laughed and began to cough. He looked at Chinua and said, "Do what you have to do... I'm not begging you, Magoli."

Chinua withdrew her dagger from Drystan's neck and slowly backed away from Drystan. She picked up the water bag and threw it at Drystan. Chinua asked, "How did you become like this?"

Drystan said, "I should thank you for putting me in this situation."

Chinua smiled and said, "No matter what situation you are in now, it is mainly your own doing. So, don't blame others for your misfortune."

Naksh looked at Drystan, then at Chinua. "Chinua, who is he?" Naksh asked.

Chinua said, "He is a bandit."

Khawn dismounted and said, "When we escorted Captain Taban here, he and his gang tried to rob us."

Hye looked at Drystan and said, "Since your mission failed, I bet someone wants to get rid of you."

Drystan said, "I already told you, do what you have to do. I am not talking." He chuckled in pain.

Hye whispered beside Chinua. "Chinua, his wound is infected. If not treated, he will die in a day or two. If you choose to help him, given his condition, I cannot remove the arrow while he is awake as it would be too painful for him."

Chinua sighed and said, "I hope I made the right decision." She looked at Naksh. "Knock him out."

Naksh smiled and said, "With pleasure." He cracked his knuckles.

Naksh rushed at Drystan. Drystan quickly stood up and started fighting with Naksh. After fighting Naksh for ten minutes, Drystan's weak body simply could not withstand Naksh's powerful punches. Naksh hit Drystan hard on the back of the neck, and Drystan fell to the ground out cold.

As the sun began to set, Chinua and her men entered Hmagol.

Jeet said happily, "It's not far from the hut."

Chinua said, "Jeet, take khawn to see if there is an empty hut for us to stay in."

Jeet and Khawn led the horses and rushed forward.

Drystan grunted and slowly sat up. Drystan cracked his neck and looked at Naksh wildly. He touched his left side and found that it was bandaged. He looked at Chinua's back.

"Did you bandage me?" Drystan asked.

Chinua glanced at Drystan and said, "No, not me. The person you should thank is Hye. Without Hye, now you are vulture's dinner."

Drystan looked to his left and saw Hye riding a horse beside the wooden carriage. "Thank you," he said.

Hye said, "If you want to thank me, then stop being a bandit."

Drystan chuckled. "I'm no longer a bandit," he said.

Chinua asked, "What happened? How did you end up here?"

"I was hired to kill you, and others were hired to kill me," Drystan said. He looked up at Chinua. "I can't kill you, so they're getting rid of witnesses." He chuckled. "Karma, is a pain in the ass when it came around and bites you."

Chinua asked, "Who ordered you to kill me?"

Drystan said, "I didn't ask."

Hye asked, "Didn't you ask questions before you accepted this job?"

Drystan looked at Chinua and said, "I said I didn't ask, but judging from his description of you, he seemed to know you very well."

Hye said, "You continued to rest." He quickly led the horse forward and rode beside Chinua. "Have you offended anyone recently?"

"I didn't offend anyone," Chinua said, looking away, trying to avoid eye contact with Hye.

Hye asked, "Do you know who sent this bandit to kill you?"

Chinua said, "I don't know."

Hye said, "You lied."

Chinua protested, "I'm not."

Hye said, "You didn't make eye contact when you answered me. Who is it?"

Chinua sighed and said with a heavy heart, "I really hope from the bottom of my heart that the person who wants to kill me is not the person I thought of." She rode forward quickly, heading for the rest area.
