Misfortune always strikes when least expected.
As Lu Jing reached the second floor, an elderly lady was just opening her door to take out the trash:
"Hey, Dr. Xiao Lu, what happened to you?" she teased, chuckling.
Lu Jing blushed up to her neck:
"I just accidentally sprained it."
Jiang Ye overheard the lie that came without any preparation and could barely suppress his laughter inside.
Out of the elderly lady's sight, Lu Jing had already fiercely pinched the soft flesh around someone's waist.
Ouch!
"Ma'am, you should rest early, we're heading up now."
"Eh, alright, take good care of that foot Xiao Lu, Captain Jiang.
Otherwise, if it turns into a chronic issue, it'll be terrible when you're old."
