"So...? How did it go...?" I asked Fin with a witty grin.
As usual, Fin and I continued on our journey. I trained Fin in the few days we spent in the last village, and when I thought he had enough, I decided we should leave. On our last day in that village, however, I had him pick up some girls so he can gain a bit of confidence in himself.
"Nothing happened, Eria-sama..." Fin replied, sounding a little annoyed.
"Oh?"
And I was so confident with my plan, but it didn't seem to work out in the end, huh? I thought those three girls will help him get rid of his virginity...
I wonder what happened? Maybe he chickened out in the end?
This guy! He's messing up my typical view of noble brats!
"Oh!" suddenly, a thought came to me, "I forgot to ask—you should already have a fiancee or two, right, Fin?"
"Ah... Yes... My parents found me a fiancee since I've come of age..."
"Have you met her yet?"
"Yes, we attend the same academy after all."
"And? What does she look like? Cute? Is she hot?" I teasingly asked.
"Well, she is beautiful, but I wouldn't call her cute... To be honest, I find she acts too spoiled..." he hesitates, but continues, "A-And compared to Eria-sama's proportions, she is quite lacking..."
"Mm? Okay..."
To be honest, I feel awkward when I get compared to other girls. And this Finral, he didn't even shy away on comparing his fianceé to me. My proportions is like that of a supermodel in my previous world, and an anomaly here, the comparison isn't fair.
"I'm sorry, Fin's fiancee!" I crossed my hands and apologized.
"I oppose the decision of my parents, but there is nothing I can truly do about it," Fin regretfully said.
"Guh... I'm sorry too, Fin..." I said, patting his shoulder in empathy. "Don't worry, I'm sure you can have as many mistresses as you want—or, you know, you can still just run away and marry the girl you actually like."
"I feel blessed that you care so much about me, but I can't do that. I'm sorry..." he softly said.
"It's fine, I understand. Even though you nobles are prickly bastards, you still have your pride and responsibilities."
"Eria-sama... You really do have a messed up opinion of us nobles..."
With Fin's mood at the lowest, the two of us continue on. After a while, we came across a group of goblins. We were in an open field, so we were able to see them before they notice us.
"Great, this is a great opportunity to test your magic, Fin!"
"R-Right!"
As I urged him, Fin stepped forward and got ready to cast his spell. Unlike when we first met, he now seems reluctant to use his magic. I think I ruined his confidence a little when I pointed out how basic his skills were when we initially met.
Well, that doesn't matter now. I'm sure he'll gain his trust back in himself once he sees how much he had actually Improved.
"Fire magic: Fireball!" he nervously casted.
The spell Fin chose was one of the most basic magic spells there is, but with my help, he was able to maximize its potential, making it one deadly attack. Like it was supposed to do, it obliterated all the goblins and turned them into dust. There was nothing left of them, and the ground they stood on remained only a small heating crater.
"A-Amazing... I can't believe how strong it gotten..." Fin mutters in disbelief.
"Fufu! Right?" forming a peace sign with my fingers, I replied.
"C-Cute...!"
Fin suddenly turned around with a blush. I didn't hear what he said, so I just ignored him. Leaving him behind, I went to the crater and observed it. There really was nothing left of the goblins. Still, if I was the one who casted that spell, this crater would've been a dozen times bigger.
"Great work, Fin! You definitely improved!"
"Thank you, Eria-sama! It is all thanks to you!"
"Don't be so modest. If you haven't put on any effort, you wouldn't improve at all. Also, it's because you're a genius."
"Hehe..." awkwardly scratching the back of his head, he said, "Thank you, Eria-sama... so even Eria-sama thinks so..."
The genius part was supposed to be a joke, but he totally bought it and thought I was serious. Well, nevermind, I don't really know. Perhaps he might truly be a genius after all? Who knows?
"Then, I'll teach you more stuff tomorrow, so get ready. Remember not to get ahead of yourself, okay? Although you've became more powerful now, there are still a lot of things to learn."
"Of course, Eria-sama!" Fin enthusiastically nodded.
