The current task had asked that the targets should be left alive and able to still live with what they had experienced.
The main issue in the present was that everyone taking on the task had moved in to knock the targets unconscious as quickly as possible to avoid them making enough noise to draw attention to them and alert anyone that could be nearby.
Each of the targets had been knocked out in a hurry so there could have been one or more of the blows they took that was just a little too much for them to be able to endure or the position of the blow ended up being in a dangerous position.
It was not like the group led by Beagle could take the time to check over each of the conditions the targets were in since they all had to complete the rest of what they had to do quickly before getting away.
If they happened to die or be unable to wake up from one of those impacts or from their fall then it was just something that could no longer be fixed.
