When she arrived, she stayed in her car, her phone buzzing with an incoming call. Seeing Li Wei's name on the screen—her manager—her stomach tightened.
Lately, his calls only meant bad news, and just seeing his name on the screen made her uneasy.
Chen Lin gripped the steering wheel, taking a deep breath before answering the call.
"Hello?" she greeted, keeping her voice steady. "Did something happen?"
On the other end, Li Wei chuckled. "Why do you always assume it's bad news?"
Chen Lin exhaled. "Because lately, every time you call, it means something's going on."
"Well, you're not wrong," he admitted, clearly in a good mood.
Hearing that, Chen Lin relaxed slightly. "Since you're in such a good mood, I'm guessing it's good news?"
Li Wei clicked his tongue. "See, that's the right mindset! Have you checked Weibo yet?"
Chen Lin blinked. "No, I've been busy with Grandpa's discharge all morning. I haven't had time."
