Shi Yuan, clearly amused but done with the cranes, rolled her eyes dramatically.
She stood up with a sigh, carefully cradling the mountain of paper cranes in her arms.
"Well, I'd better get going," she muttered, flashing a quick smile. "Take care of her, Wu Yuxuan. Make sure she rests. Don't let her do anything stupid."
Chen Lin's face darkened at the implication, but before she could say anything, Shi Yuan was already heading toward the door.
As she reached it, she turned back and shot Wu Yuxuan a playful look. "Seriously, take care of her. I'll be counting on you." With that, she gave a mischievous grin, clearly enjoying the sight of her friend's discomfort, and left, her laughter lingering behind her.
Wu Yuxuan stood there, silently watching her go before turning back to Chen Lin.
He placed the stack of colored papers onto Chen Lin's bed, the pages a stark contrast to the white bed sheet.
"Here," he said, his voice smooth. "Didn't you want to add colors to your cranes?"
