Not long after, Jackson Sully put down his chopsticks. A bowl of pure rice was swallowed without much sense of fullness, and he still stared blankly at the bowl and chopsticks in front of him.
Keira Leaf asked a servant to clear away the tableware, then sat at the bedside, stretched out her hand, and gently took Alice Smith's hand, saying, "Stay here for now. If you need anything, just tell the servants, and if you're bored, have someone call me. You are still sick, so I won't disturb your rest anymore."
Jackson Sully looked up to meet the concerned gaze in Keira Leaf's eyes and managed to squeeze out a strained smile, "I'm fine."
Keira Leaf gently patted his hand, viewing the undried teardrops on his cheeks and couldn't help but sigh softly. Eventually, she gently withdrew her hand, stood up, and left the room with Joshua Sulliven.
She thought, perhaps at this moment, Alice needed some quiet.
Whatever she had been through, she needed some time to settle down.
