Captain Yenova studied the request form, her eyes narrowing slightly. Across her desk, Alex maintained perfect posture, his expression carefully composed into one of familial concern.
"A family matter," she repeated, setting the parchment down. "You're requesting three days' absence to visit Klaus at the main estate."
"Yes, Captain." Alex kept his tone formal despite addressing his aunt. Protocol demanded it within Éclair's walls.
"Interesting." Yenova leaned back in her chair. "Especially given that Fa-the partriach has expressly limited visitation to immediate family and authorized healers."
Alex had anticipated this. "I've sent a request directly to Grandfather. His response should arrive by midday."
