Roland was familiar with electromagnetic and optical camouflage; the Wehrmacht had invested heavily in this area, with battleships and MDS units equipped with it, and similar technology was also installed on Unicorns.
Whether it was projection-based or adaptive coloration optical camouflage, or electromagnetic signal evading design and electromagnetic wave absorption materials—those technologies traditionally called "invisible" were not strictly "unseeable" but rather techniques that would "significantly reduce the distance at which one was detected" and "decrease the warning time for the opposition." Once the distance was closed, with careful observation with the naked eye and enhanced electronic signal analysis, one could distinguish them.
