When the "Legion" appeared overhead, Barnie's reaction could only be described as "utterly bewildered."
It was only natural.
Anyone would experience a brief mental blank from shock upon seeing a metallic lump suddenly flying above their head in a freezing night where water turns to ice. A faint-hearted person might very well be scared to the point of wetting themselves on the spot, and if one were of sturdier nerves, they might even drag their wife out of bed to watch the 'angels' together.
But those were neither angels nor devils, not even human beings.
—And so the Lord inquired, are you the Undead, or are you a demon?
—A foolish question. Since you ask, here is your answer, I am Legion.
This slogan sprayed on the hull of the machine revealed the wicked humor behind the word "Legion." It also declared to the world that even the Grim Reaper and demons would fear the approaching Undead Army, with the cries and howls of the dying enveloping the land.
