The Western Hall guest monk anxiously said: "If the Shura deity statue was intact, those disciples who fell into the demonic path could simply make a pilgrimage to Vimazhita, but now the Feitian Sect has been destroyed by the Devil Lord Gongchen. If we end up with more monks falling into demonic insanity, how are we to explain this to the masters of 4,864 temples in Buddha's Country!?"
According to the traditions of Buddha's Country, the west seat is the guest seat, hence it's called the Western Hall.
Thus, the position of the elder of the Western Hall becomes a very special seat, usually occupied by retired elders from other temples, appointed to serve in the temple.
