Seeing Jesslyn Derei with a startled expression on her face, Amanda Jenkins laughed with schadenfreude, "I just wanted to test your courage. Look at you, all grown up and still so timid."
Jesslyn Derei retorted, "My courage is perfectly fine now! Just last night I..."
Speaking, Jesslyn Derei suddenly paused.
"Did what?" Amanda teased with a mischievous smile, "Did you go seduce my brother?"
"Stop making fun of me." Jesslyn Derei frowned and turned away sullenly.
"I'm sorry." Amanda reached out and took Jesslyn Derei's hand, "I know Lucas disturbed you last night. It was his fault, and I've already spoken to him about it, but he didn't do it on purpose. Don't be mad, okay?"
"I'm not mad at him." Jesslyn Derei pulled her hand away and walked a few steps toward the shore.
Amanda followed and asked curiously, "So, what happened next? How did things go with my brother? I noticed he was especially caring toward you this morning."
