Qin Sisi did not notice Kong Jiu's expression. After she meticulously helped Kong Jiu to defrost his hand, she suddenly thought of something else.
"You didn't eat any fish, did you?" Qin Sisi looked at Kong Jiu, her gaze turned wary.
Kong Jiu smiled awkwardly and replied: "Well... I'm not hungry."
Qin Sisi didn't say anything, but her face clearly displayed disbelief.
He had assured her with fervor that the Blue Blood Ice Fish was safe to eat. He had even caught fish himself to encourage her to eat a lot. Yet, he hadn't tasted it himself. Anyone could see something was off.
Kong Jiu started to feel pressured under Qin Sisi's watchful gaze. He sighed and said, "Nevermind, actually, I just don't like eating fish. But since you don't trust me, I'll just have one with you."
Having said that, Kong Jiu went back to the river, swiftly caught another fish, and popped it into his mouth without hesitation. His cheeks bulged roundly, and he quickly swallowed a Blue Blood Ice Fish.
