Meng Xi'er held the jacket Lu Yebai had left in the car and sighed again.
He'd gone out again without his jacket. What if he caught a cold?
Lu Yebai returned quickly, a cake in one hand and a rose clenched in the other.
The chill clung to him as he got into the car and handed the rose to Meng Xi'er.
"This is…?"
"The store's anniversary, they give a flower with every cake. What, don't you like it?"
Meng Xi'er looked at the rose in her hand, pursed her lips, and chuckled softly, "I like it."
She glanced over at the cake shop, knowing it wasn't any anniversary, but clearly, Lu Yebai had simply picked up the flower while buying the cake.
He wasn't one for much romance, but he always treated her with extra care.
In the snowy weather, they returned to the Lu family home at a leisurely pace. Meng Xi'er got out of the car carrying the cake, and Mrs. Lu came rushing out of the kitchen with chicken soup, "Xixi, it's cold out, have some chicken soup to warm up!"
