Noh Ka Likai falls is the tallest plunge waterfall In India, located in the Meghalaya near Cherapunji, one of the wettest places of Earth.
There was a woman named Likai, who belongs to normal family. To this Era, most of the people in Meghalaya still doing farming for there life. Her father became too old to work on farm so she started going to the farm to help her father.
There was a boy who works on the farm near her. They fell in love in the first sight. They decided to marry each other.
There parents agree to it as they are from same village. Likai love her husband so much that she can do anything for her. After a year, they had a daughter, they were so happy at that moment.
Due to excessive work and daily traveling from one place to another, her husband condition was not good due to changing weather. So he usually stayed at home and Likai goes to work.
One day, they both fought each other because Likai do all the work and she became tired and frustrated. Next day, her husband died. Only guilt is left, she thought at the end moment of her husband, she fought with him.
She continues to work hard for her daughter and for herself. She decided to marry again because her daughter is so young and she also need support.
She married a man, who loves her more and her daughter. Her family agreed but they caution her that this man is nor good, he shows something else and think something else.
But she ignored.
Day by day she noticed, her husband really love her and her daughter.
They started planning for another baby, so she worked hard to save money. They work turn by turn, one day she goes to work and another day she stays at home and started sewing and knitting.
Usually, she always wakes up early and do some household work then go to work. But one day, she woke up and saw her husband woke up early, he helped her in household chores. She was so happy to see how much he loved her.
Before leaving for work, she told her husband to take care of their daughter and she will cook food after work and she left.
At noon, she came back, saw lock on the door, thought they go out for playing, so she return to work.
At late evening, she came back saw the lantern outside the door for lightning the way.
Usually there are two lantern, one in the main room and another in the kitchen. But that day, one lantern was in the kitchen and one in the door.
She became so happy, how thoughtful her husband is.
So she directly went to kitchen and surprised to see that her husband already cooked food.
Her husband saw her and said, "You cooked for us daily, so I cooked your favourite food today....chicken and rice."
She was so happy, she said,"let me wash my face and hand". She started going inside the room but her husband stopped her, " wash here itself".
After washing, she sat down and her husband served her first, she loves to eat the liver part, so her husband gave her all.
They ate and she asked for her daughter, he said she slept. She stood up to wash her hand. She felt some stickiness in her sole. She thought some drops of fell in the floor. So she went inside and as she enters the kitchen, she felt stickiness again. She touched that, she thought it's water but it's not.
So she took the lantern way to the floor, she saw blood, then raises her head and discovered a little finger in Betel Nut Basket.
She asked her husband about her daughter.
He said, "The food you ate was your daughter, I loved you so much after marriage I told you to love me more but you gave all your love to your daughter so I killed her. From now onwards no one will come between us.
She stunned there, no sign of emotions showed on her face. Without saying anything she left home and distraught with grief and remorse she rushed to the nearby waterfall, she started thinking, for her daughter she married that man and now she is no more, what will I do?
She stood at the cliff and thrown herself over the precipice adjoining the waterfall.
As the saying goes, she saw her daughter on the rock at the end of the fall saying, " You killed me not that man". So she jumped.

Till date, if anyone go to the cliff or near the waterfall, they started feeling of remorse and wanted to die. Many woman's died here. Maybe they saw there regret in that rock.
