Each time Shelly tries to find a moment to grab her floating firey friend her process is impeded by the enemy and immediately has to defend herself.
As well as each time the slicing sword tries to unite herself with Shelly's direct skin, the Sheriff's staff blocks her off or temporarily pokes her away.
