They had quickly gone from trying to wade of unusual company to embracing the ideas of said unusual company.
Fine, Xander did admit that he had his own selfish reasons for wanting to enter the ice forest. Between his responsibility as the Society Leader, and his certain responsibility to a peculiar red girl —one of it outweighed the other.
So when the elders shot him a freezing stare—mostly because of all people, at least Xander should have stood with them by their decision— and even when Zaren Taramas took him in amusedly, he stood by his decision.
