Suddenly, Snape exploded with power, gaining a massive increase in all of his stats. The last time he had checked his status, most of his stats were at just 63 points, except for his magic, which was at 159. That had been more than a year ago when he returned to Hogwarts. Over the course of the year, he had gradually increased his stats, purposely neglecting his intelligence to avoid drawing too much attention. He had stopped at 190 points so that others wouldn't notice how much magic his body was brimming with.
He had raised his other stats significantly: his strength was at 200, speed at 306, vitality at 213, and sense at 233. He was far stronger than he had been a year ago. By now, he could easily take on any student in the school and more. He had already defeated more than 50 dark wizards, and after the battle at Hogsmeade, he had to more than double his physical strength to match Dracula's power. But now, Snape knew he could surpass him.
His strength had reached an entirely new level after receiving a status bonus for finally becoming the Shadow Monarch. He doubted anyone could defeat him now. Moreover, his magic had increased the most—gaining an additional 250 points, more than doubling his previous score.
'I must be on Dumbledore's level now...' Snape concluded as he felt the density of his magic.
Dumbledore was physically weak, and Snape knew that even if the old wizard had a magical advantage, he could exploit that.
But now, Snape could face Dumbledore head-on in terms of magic. He might still be slightly below the old man, but he wasn't sure. However, he was confident he could match him spell for spell. Beyond that, his physical strength surpassed even the world's most powerful vampire. Clearly, Snape could corner the old wizard far more quickly and easily than before.
Still, having such a sudden surge of magical power posed a problem. His magic had jumped from 190 to 440 points, which would be quickly noticed and raise suspicions.
'I need to find a way to hide this...' Snape thought, realizing that this newfound power would cause some problems.
Regardless, Snape glanced at his status one last time and allocated the remaining 20 points directly to magic. There was no point in trying to suppress his current power anymore, so he raised his intelligence to 460 points.
After feeling his magical strength increase once again, he finally stood up from the throne. The dark aura still surrounded him like a dense fog. Closing his eyes, Snape began to dissipate the darkness, controlling it until it vanished completely.
When he opened his eyes, the throne room was utterly destroyed, with fallen suits of armor scattered across the floor.
'Am I taller?'
Snape quickly noticed that he had grown a few more centimeters in height, reaching about 185 cm from what he could tell. Not only that, but his muscle mass was now far denser, with minimal fat on his body.
"Now I've become a necromancer and gained the power of the Shadow Monarch... How exactly does this work..." Snape pondered for a moment, and at that instant, the system began beeping again.
[You now possess the power to raise the dead to fight by your side. Begin building your army using the word "Arise" on a dead body.]
"This..." Snape thought about it and looked at the fallen suits of armor.
"Let's try it on them..." He decided, stepping closer to one of the broken armors in the destroyed area. Following his intuition, he raised his hand, which began to darken with a mist as his eyes glowed blue.
"Arise," he commanded.
In the next moment, black mist appeared above the shattered armor, swirling as it began to take shape.
[Shadow Extraction Successful!]
The system notified as the shadows solidified into a form. The armor remained broken on the ground, but a dark figure emerged from the shadows, glowing with blue light in certain places.
Snape observed the creature carefully. It still emitted mist around its form and stood silently, waiting for a command, simply staring at him.
"So, this is how I create an army through death..." he murmured, analyzing the creature. He felt connected to it, and the system beeped again, informing him that he now had one shadow, with a total capacity of twenty at his current necromancy level.
Necromancy Level 1
[Shadows: 1/20]
"So, I need to level up this job to increase the group. After all, the system mentioned the word 'army,' and twenty men hardly make an army."
Regardless, Snape reflected on his limitations while gazing at the fallen warriors who had battled him. All of them lay scattered across the ground, with many buried under the wreckage left from his chaotic battle with Morou.
Before continuing, he glanced again at the knight he had just raised and noticed a glowing blue sword in its hands.
"I want you to try cutting that pillar," he tested.
The knight, without uttering a word, advanced toward one of the last standing pillars in the room. Raising its sword, it struck the concrete. The blow cracked part of the surface but didn't completely cut through the pillar. The blade barely pierced it and even got stuck, with the knight struggling to pull it out.
'That's asking too much...' Snape thought, seeing that the knight appeared to be just a simple soldier, albeit much stronger than a regular human. He watched from a distance, arms crossed, analyzing the scene.
However, he didn't need the shadow to destroy the pillar entirely. He was more interested in understanding how the commands worked.
"Stop," he ordered.
The shadow obeyed immediately, lowering the sword and stepping back from the pillar. The knight turned to Snape, waiting for further instructions.
"Do you speak?" Snape asked.
"..."
The knight shook its head negatively.
"I see... Stay there, then," he commanded.
The shadow remained still as Snape moved on, walking toward the other fallen armors scattered on the ground. He checked the system again, analyzing the types of enemies he had faced so far, including warriors, archers, and mages — even the powerful Ignis Knight, who lay further away.
Snape decided to start with the mages — there were three in total — then moved on to raise five archers. Lastly, he selected ten knights to fill nineteen of the twenty shadow slots the system allowed.
He left the final slot reserved for the strongest knight present: the Ignis Knight.
Approaching the fallen knight's body, Snape raised his hand and firmly pronounced:
"Arise."
Black mist swirled around the red armor for a few moments. However, after several seconds, the shadows dissipated without taking form, vanishing as if they had never been there.
[Shadow Extraction Failed.]
The system informed him.
"So I can fail at this too?" Snape murmured, surprised.
He focused once more, took a deep breath, and tried again.
"Arise!"
The mist returned, dense and powerful, enveloping the fallen armor. This time, the extraction process lasted longer than the previous failed attempt. As the black mist rose over the fallen knight, the form of the Ignis Knight emerged before Snape, now transformed into pure darkness with a sinister blue glow.
The figure retained the same features as the original armor, but its appearance was cloaked in deep shadows, and its eyes shone with a haunting blue light.
Suddenly, all the shadow soldiers in the room began kneeling before Snape, starting with Igris himself, yet none of them uttered a single word.
Snape observed the scene for a moment, studying each one carefully.
[Finally... The beginning of your Shadow Army.]
[Necromancy, Level Up!]
[Necromancy Level 2: Shadows: 20/22.]
"Interesting..." Snape murmured and selected two more of the remaining simple knights, increasing his shadows to 22.
"Well, this is great, but the question is... How will I keep them?" Snape murmured again, unsure how he could hide all those soldiers. After all, they would surely attract attention wherever he went.
At that moment, Igris began dissolving into shadows, as though he was sinking into the ground. A small dark figure slithered rapidly from where he stood and reached Snape's feet, slipping into his own shadow.
Surprised, Snape watched the blue eyes flicker briefly within his shadow before disappearing completely, as if nothing had been there.
"I see... So I can store them in my shadow? Well, that seems very useful."
Snape gave a faint smile as he glanced at the remaining knights, archers, and mages. With a simple hand gesture, they all began transforming into shadows, gliding across the floor until they were absorbed into Snape's shadow.
When the last shadow disappeared, he could feel all their presences within him.
[Congratulations! You have completed your task of creating the first part of the army.]
The system's voice returned, informing him of his progress.
[The dungeon will soon be destroyed. You will receive a Teleportation Stone. Breaking it will transport you to any desired location in this world. The travel will occur within seconds.]
A bright white stone fell into Snape's hands.
In the next moment, a portal began forming before him, while the exit stone vanished from his inventory.
[The dungeon will be destroyed in two minutes. Please step through the portal to avoid being consumed by the void.]
Snape wasted no time. He moved toward the portal, breaking the stone in his hands and thinking of his home in England.
Within moments, he was enveloped in magical energy and disappeared into the portal.
"Lord Dracula! Lord Dracula!"
A voice echoed through Dracula's castle, heard by every vampire present.
Dracula, accompanied by several other vampires, quickly ran to the floor where a mysterious painting had been watched for an entire month.
The painting, which once radiated an aura of death, now appeared visibly weakened, cracks spreading across its surface as though something was about to happen.
When he reached the painting, Dracula stopped, studying the growing fissures with a grim expression.
"It's self-destructing..." Dracula murmured, trying to comprehend the situation.
"Father!"
Rosaria appeared, approaching cautiously while more vampires gathered in the hall, awaiting any sign from the human Dracula had warned them about—the one who had entered the painting.
The cracks spread quickly, and the painting began to darken, losing all its colors. Within seconds, the artwork had turned completely black, as if nothing remained of it.
"The painting no longer exists..." Dracula murmured, disbelief evident in his voice.
"But... Where is he?" Rosaria asked, still in shock, staring at the empty space in front of them.
"He was destroyed along with the painting," the vampire beside her responded, analyzing the situation. It was Rosaria's sister.
"That can't be... He couldn't have fallen so easily..." Rosaria whispered, regret in her tone. It was hard to believe that the human could have simply disappeared like that.
But before they could fully process what had happened, everyone there was caught off guard by a portal that suddenly appeared right in front of the destroyed painting.
All the vampires instinctively stepped back, feeling an ominous aura of danger emanating from the portal.
From within it, a figure slowly emerged.
Shrouded in a dark aura, with eyes glowing an intense, menacing blue, Snape returned. His presence felt far more powerful than before, radiating a shadowy energy that made even the most powerful vampires present shiver.
"Him..." Dracula couldn't believe what he was seeing. The human who had entered the painting was now returning as something far more powerful, far more dangerous.
Snape stepped forward, his gaze rising to meet theirs. He scanned the room, looking at all of them with an unyielding intensity, standing tall as the true Shadow Monarch.
