"Or," Death continued, her voice softening, a teasing glint in her eye, "is it because of Shinobu and Mitsuri?"
I couldn't help but chuckle at that, knowing she had seen right through me. "You know me too well, my love."
But, of course, they weren't the only reasons. There was something else that called to me in the Demon Slayer world—something more powerful, more practical. "They are one reason, yes," I admitted, stepping closer to Death, my fingers brushing her cold hand gently. "But my other reason is to obtain the 'Transparent World.'"
The Transparent World—one of the most overpowered techniques in the Demon Slayer world. A skill that allowed the user to essentially'see' through their opponent, understanding their muscles, their breath, and their next moves, all without using their eyes.
It was more than just heightened perception; it was the key to mastery in battle. In a place where demons could heal from most wounds, where speed and precision meant life or death, this ability would give me the edge I needed.
Death tilted her head slightly, considering my words. "The Transparent World," she mused. "It is indeed a powerful skill. But is it worth venturing into such a realm for?"
I nodded. "Absolutely. It's not just about the demons or the women, though they certainly make it... more enjoyable." I smirked, earning a faint smile from Death. "It's about honing my own abilities. Expanding what I'm capable of. I don't want to remain stagnant, and that skill—it's my powering stone."
Her lips curled into a subtle smile. "Always the warrior."
"And besides, think of all the chaos I could bring to that world. Demons won't know what hit them." I said.
She let out a soft, amused sigh. "You and your chaos."
I leaned forward, placing a gentle kiss on her hand. "It's what I do best."
There was a moment of silence between us, but it wasn't uncomfortable. It was the kind of silence that came with understanding, the kind that only two people who truly knew each other could share. Death didn't need to say anything more; she trusted me, and I trusted her. She might have her concerns, but in the end, she always supported my decisions.
"So," I said, standing up and stretching my arms, "are you ready to send me off to the Demon Slayer world?"
Technically, it wasn't Death who would send me there—it was my system. The portal would be opened using my karma points, but since Death was the creator of my system, it felt right to involve her in these moments. She was, after all, the one who gave me the power and the tools I had today.
Death rose gracefully from her seat, her long black gown flowing behind her like shadows dancing in the dim light. Her presence always carried an aura of authority and elegance, a reminder of her immense power. "Alright," she said, her voice soft but filled with knowing, "but before you go, who are you planning to take with you to this world?"
I smirked. "Shalltear and Lupusregina."
Her laughter filled the room "The Hashira are going to attack you the moment they lay eyes on you," she said, still chuckling. "You're bringing two of the most striking, otherworldly women in Nazarick to a world where demons are their mortal enemies."
I shrugged, unable to keep the grin off my face. "That's the fun part, isn't it? They'll be too distracted trying to figure out who we are before they even think about attacking. Besides, Shalltear is a vampire, and Lupusregina has her own... unique abilities. If they want a fight, we'll give them one. But who knows, maybe we'll win them over before it comes to that."
