She looked at him who had small smart on his face. "What do you think I am? "He asked innocently.
Even she was falling in a daze, wondering what he was. 'He can't be human.' She thought us she looked at him. He seemed so innocent wearing his black leather coat and black overall unlike her who was donned in white.
"Well you definitely cannot be human. So what are you?" She asked as she saw him walking closer to her. She wanted to walk backwards but remembering his words, she decided to stay still.
"What I am darling should not concern you. Just know that I have taken an interest in you and they should suffice your curiosity. However if you do want to know what really lies beneath this skin, Well I will not hesitate to show you."
He said as he wrapped his hands around her. She queered in fear but she tried to muster all the courage in her body not to make any sudden movements.
*Snap*
"Arrgh!!!" Khan screamed in pain as the Cinder dragon roasted his body making it burn though strangely enough, his body wasn't being consumed by the flames.
The Abyss dragon growled as it opened its mouth wide enough to swallow an entire fifty storey building whole. Other than its jagged white teeth which were perfectly aligned, deep into its mouth, there was strange void like object which glowed golden in contrast to the dark Abyss.
It did not seem stable as it would seem to fluctuate with each passing second, giving a sense of threat that it would collapse the very next second.
A small string of this Abyss like matter whose properties seemed indecipherable to the human mind stretched out and connected to the frontal lobe of Yvette. She was startled with this as she could not find herself able to move her body seeing the world suddenly turned dark.
In a matter of seconds, she fell unconscious resulting her to fall into Andrew's arms as Khan's torture seemed to stop but even he too fell unconscious.
"It would be wise for these humans to have a tool capable of helping them. "The Abyss dragon spoke however Andrew could sense that it was corrupted by fear who was speaking through it.
The Scales less dragon spoke in reverence. "Like a system to aid them with their progress." Andrew contemplated on this idea before agreeing that it was a good idea. Even he realized that it was too hard for these people to gain strength.
"Very well. I naturally take it that you have already figured it all out. "He said as he hopped onto the Cinder dragon's back. The unconscious bodies of Khan and Yvette fell perfectly fine on to it.
The Cinder dragon flapped its wings before taking off into the pitch black sky as it lit up with every single flap of its wings. Its own golden and red luminescent glow of fire illuminated the night sky as it made its way towards the lodge.
...
"Urgh, my head hurts! "Yvette exclaimed as she woke up.
[{Ding: Congratulations host on receiving a special gift from The Coordinator.}]
A transparent golden box dialogue appeared right front of her. "What is this?" She groaned as she held her head in pain. Looking around, she realized that she was back in the lodge with nothing out of the ordinary.
'Did what happen last night even real? 'She thought but another notification interrupted her train of thought.
[{Ding: A special spatial volatile pocket has been detected in your mind. Would you like to harness it?}]
She was stunned upon hearing this. 'What did it mean by harness?' She thought.
[{Harness will naturally help The Host to better understand and use this spatial pocket to The Host advantage.}]
[{Would you like to commence the procedure?}]
After a bit of thought, if it would make her stronger then it would mean that she could finally prove useful to Andrew.
[{Do it.}]
She said with a face full off determination written all over it.
[{Commencing procedure...}]
"Argghh!!!!"She held on to her head as an indescribable pain assaulted her mind. She felt as if her brain was being dissected, broken down to the smallest atom piece by piece until it no longer was whole.
She could feel her brain turn into mush but even more so, she couldn't do anything but wraith in pain as beads of sweat formed all over her body.
*3 hours later*
She had now fully recovered even though the whole process was absolutely hell to her mind. It would seem that her body seemed untouched unlike her mind.
She freshened up by taking a shower before meeting Andrew in the dining hall. It was a very large room with very architectural and immaculate designing showcasing the history of the craftsmanship of the locals.
She ignored all of that and the people who are already present as they dined and chat casually. It wasn't long till she found Andrew who sat alone quietly enjoying his meal.
"I was wondering when you're going to wake up. "He said jokingly as he took a bite of his food. "Have a seat." He gestured which resulted to her sitting.
"Did what happen last night even true? "She asked as she felt what happened feel more of a dream rather than a reality. "Did you finish harnessing your spatial volatile pocket?"
He asked dismissing her question. "So it was real. Yes I have." She said as she tried to look into his eyes. She could only feel a vast feeling of loneliness which was mirrored back to her within his jade eyes.
It wasn't some oppressive power but rather a calm and cool euphoric feeling capable of making one forget the troubles of the world.
"Well the reason for our flight to Russia has ended so pack your bags as we will be leaving soon." He said as he stood up. "But I will recommend you to check out the features of that system. You'll find me in my room when you need me."
He said as he made his way to his room. With that, she decided to make her back to her room. Her breakfast had already been prepared for her waiting for her in her room.
Even she couldn't believe that she was staying and is room. It was nothing compared to her flat where she stayed at. This room was fit to accommodate a king and queen as it was beautifully crafted and designed to offer comfort and luxury to its guests.
After finishing her meal, she went and lay on her bed. It was extremely comfortable as she sank deeper into it. It was warm and cozy for her as she closed her eyes.
Her vision went blank as she felt suspended in a pitch black abyss as her world felt cold and desolate.
[{Ding: Player is requested to input a name.}]
'Name? Is this going to be like a game?' She thought.
[{Yes.}]
"Oh..." She gasped as she contemplated on coming up with a name. "I got it." A golden and black dialogue box promoted up and a keyboard appeared for her to type her alias.
"Done." She said with a smile on her face.
[{Name: Abyss Queen. Do you wish to select this name?}]
"Yes." She said, satisfied with her choice.
[{Host is privileged due to the connection with the void the following skills.}]
[{Abysmal Delves: The Host can now be able to move from place to place regardless of the barrier by use of the spatial cracks of the void.}]
[{Call from the beyond: The Host can open spatial cracks to which creatures from the void can pass through and attack other players.}]
[{Eternium: The void has existed before the existence of creation. The Host is privileged to escape any precarious situation and recuperate in the void for an indefinite time. Upon exit, time will progress as normal}]
[{Myriads of the Abyss: The Host has been able to link with the complex systems of nothingness thus granting the host with special passive abilities.}]
[{The host is required to select a weapon.}]
To her display was a wide selection for weapons to choose from. Swords, spears, bows and arrows, staffs and even modern weapons like guns and others.
She wasn't really into violence however she knew that sooner or later, that would change so she might as well choose the best thing she might have no problem utilizing.
She wanted to get better details of these weapons but there was further details on them. 'Maybe I should pick a gun? 'She thought but after a while, she gave up on that idea.
"What will be the era of where I am going?" She asked hoping that thus would assist her in making a decision.
[{The era can be considered similar to the Victorian era.}]
Even though she wasn't a huge gamer like her brother who would usually play such games of role-play, she did have a rich insight into history thanks to her knowledge.
"I'll chose the sword." She decided to settle with that.
[{The host is urged to remember that the events that will play out in this world should be treated with great urgency.}]
[{A game for more relevance. There will be other players like yourself from all over the world. All you have to do is be the strongest by completing missions, hunting monsters and all that.}]
"Does that mean that there will be like experience points of some sort?" She asked as she would hear how her brother would rant on such mechanics in his games.
[{Yes and you obtain them by doing the listed above. You can also obtain them by killing other players. Upon a player's death, they will be lowered a level depending on how they died.}]
[{They will then be exiled from playing the game for an hour before resuming their game and losing their items in the process.}]
'It's already clear that dying is not an exception.' She thought hoping to not disappoint Andrew.
[{This game can be played to your own liking and any profits earned will be halved upon transfer to the real world. However, upon resuming, the profits will return to their earlier statistics.}]
[{That is all. Good luck.}]
The voice from an unknown voice rang through the void before disappearing transitioning the world plunged in darkness into a more vibrant and lifelike atmosphere.
It seems everything came to life as she saw her environment. The sky was blue littered with clouds here and there which looked extremely realistic.
She found herself in a small town of some sort with a collection of building which seemed out of date, similar to the Victorian era.
The streets were lively as she could see people going about their casual lives however there were other people.
'Players. 'She thought as she looked at some of them. Unlike the civilians who seemed to mind their business, these people seemed as shocked as she was. Looking around as they tried to make sense of what had happened.
*Tap*
She felt someone tap on her shoulder startling her but looking at the person, he had their name similar to the rest of the other players.
There was a small tag above his head indicating his name. "Hedon." It read. "So you made it. Come on, let's go." He said but she realized that it was Andrew.
"Uh...okay." She said as they started to walk towards the town center. Even though she knew that it was Andrew, she didn't know why he didn't make an effort to change his looks. He was similar to his regular self.
A voice rang behind them. It was another player who took note of their movement.
"Can we come with you?" He asked. His name was "Cosmic Walker." He seemed middle of body frame, he seemed to possess a calm temperament as he walked over to Andrew.
The reason why he asked why is because he felt that Hedon seemed to know his way around as he walked as if he was familiar with the environment.
"Very well." Andrew said flatly as he continued to walk without waiting for him towards the town center. Cosmic Walker felt somehow insulted with his actions but he repressed them for now and with the rest of those behind him followed him.
They were all dressed in casual clothes, similar to white bland pants and shirts however Andrew was adorned in nothing but fine red and golden garments which had a revelation of his opulence.
This made Cosmic Walker to feel that he knew what he was doing. It wasn't long till they arrived at the two center. It wasn't just them but other players who had made their way here. The town center was a huge fountain which depicted the fine craftsmanship of the locals.
But what was a real eye catcher was that there was an individual who seemed to hover above the fountain as the individual looked over them in discontent and ridicule. The players felt it but now, they were on new territory and they chose to wait for now.
