Maurus grew in size and girth. His eyes became bloodshot filled with rage and fury. As his physique became more pronounced, it came at a cost of his intelligence thus forcing him to rely on his survival instincts. Everyone in the ballroom tried to flee so as to preserve their lives. Unlucky servants that were bystanders met their demise as Maurus went on his rampage.
Aleron, Victorian and Lirien had barely made it out of the room before the monstrous pressure that had descended on their bodies instantly vanished without a trace. The last thing they could remember was that Maurus was charging for Orsen but they tried to leave as they knew that the results would be disastrous.
Aleron had been crawling on the floor while Victoria and Lirien were barely walking. Taken aback by what had happened, they looked back to see Maurus, a grotesque piece of nature with bulging muscles and bloodshot eyes was instantly calmed down. He wasn't subdued but rather he was stopped dead in his tracks.
Right on his forehead rest the sword Orsen had been using. It hadn't impaled Maurus's head but made a slight prick on his skin which had hardened. The three were surprised with the turn of events. In an instant, Maurus collapsed on the ground and withdrew from his freakish state falling unconscious. "What!" The three exclaimed in unison as they saw this. The wrath of a tier five monster had been pacified in an instant as if nothing had happened.
The ballroom along with the manor had started to give way because of the pressure Maurus had emitted and it was gone. "That was fun Aleron. I look forward to more pars such as this one." Orsen said as he looked at Aleron who was bleeding out of his nose. He was the weakest thus he was the one who suffered the most.
And just like that, Orsen vanished from his spot leaving the scene in ruins and shambles. Victoria and Lirien glanced at Aleron who was barely holding onto his life. He was a vampire and had exemplary recovery rate as his wounds started to heal but no sooner had he gotten off the floor that he was suspended by Victoria by the throat.
He was an undead thus couldn't suffocate but he still felt the pain. "Who was that?!" She demanded.
…
Orsen went back to his shop to find a significant number of people already there. He had removed his look and now he was donned in a casual white shirt and black pants. Going inside, she found Reya who was visibly overwhelmed by the outrage of the people in the store.
Seeing Orsen was already back, she gave out a sigh of relief as he made over to the counter. In front of him, there were adventurers who seemed in dire circumstances while others seemed outraged. "So you are the one who owns this store!" A voice rang out directed at him.
The source was a big burly man who had multiple scars on his face and some on his body. He was at tier two on the fourth array. "Yes, do you have any problems?" Orsen flatly asked looking at him. "Yes, how do expect anyone to afford any of these potions?! They are way too high!!"
The crowd behind him grumbled in unison. Reya couldn't disagree with them. These prices were way too high. "If you cannot afford them then don't even bother buying them. There are other shops that you could go and purchase these potions as well." He said.
He knew that the average common folk couldn't afford any of these vials and that was because that wasn't his target but the higher class of society. The people present were outraged upon hearing this. "Do you think that you can make profit like this? You'll simply have to lower the prices for that." The burly man exclaimed with a confident smug.
However Orsen failed to respond as he remained silent. The man grew impatient on trying to reach an agreement with Orsen. "I don't think you acknowledge where you are?" He said with a hint of mockery. "I agree." Orsen shot back. Tired with his antics, the man threw a punch at Orsen's face but another reality played that no one had anticipated.
The head of the burly man instantly popped like a cherry with his body falling to the ground. A rune lit up beneath their feet and assimilated the body whole and got rid of the blood that had splattered onto the walls and the counter. People were shocked at this sight and immediately backed away from the counter.
Some left the store while others tried to confront Orsen. "Do you know what the punishment for murder is within the kingdom?" Another person said with his right cheek covered in blood. 'Death.' Orsen knew clearly. "Yes." He said flatly as he wiped a smudge of blood of his clothes with a simple spell.
Those in the store immediately left the scene while Reya was visibly shocked at the scene. She hadn't thought that such an outcome would have played out. "I doubt any more customers will turn up. We should close up shop." Orsen said as he stood at the exit. Reya subconsciously walked out of the store as her mind was filled with the various outcomes for this.
The two made their way home and Orsen got a refreshing shower while Reya was still in a trance of the previous events. She observed hoe Orsen seemed unaffected by what had previously occurred. "Have you told your parents that your son is dead?" Orsen asked as he had changed into a new attire.
She slowly shook her head. "Life is only temporary." He said as he noticed Reya's perturbed state. "You treat it like its air. Killing without remorse like a monster." She said as she realized that Orsen was seated across from her.
"Incorrect. I treat everything equal. Should I kill a wild animal, you won't think much of it but the moment I kill a human being, then it is wrong. What is the difference between that wild animal and a human being? Don't they both deserve to live as they contain life? But the selfishness of human kind makes us think that we are superior compared to the rest thus we treat killing wild life as normal and ourselves as wrong."
"What I do is simply treat everything equal. From killing a stray dog to killing a child, they are all life so I treat them all with the same equality. Thus I feel no form remorse when I kill a human being." Orsen concluded as he took a bite of his food.
While Reya was having a moment, he took the initiative to make lunch. She thought what he had said. It was a dehumanizing perspective but a perspective nonetheless. "You're inhumane." She whispered. "And you are selfish, blinded by the will to live," Orsen said as he took another bite from his food.
"I told my mother to come over and have a talk with you. My father was a bit stubborn claiming that he had other matters to attend to." Orsen merely nodded as he went on with his meal before finishing it, he cleaned the table right after.
*Knock-Knock-Knock*
As the two were waiting, a knock came from the door. Reya went over to answer it and returned shortly after with a lady who seemed to be in her forties. Having a mature charm, blue hair, captivating dark starry eyes and an attracting figure. She was Orsen's biological mother, Elievana.
Seeing her own son unlike a regular mother who would scream with joy and ecstasy, she had a dark and apprehensive look on her face. The intuition of a mother told her everything that she needed to know about her child and looking at Orsen, she could tell that he wasn't her son.
Reya gave her mother a seat and she sat next to her. "Who are you and where is my son?" She inquired. "Your son died and I am merely borrowing his identity." Orsen said. "You monster! You killed my son, my baby!" She said with tears dancing on the edges of her eyes. It was a morbid experience for any mother to realize that their son was dead and there was someone else masquerading as him.
"Give me my son's body. I want to bury him." She demanded. "That won't be at the moment." He further added. Elievana was perplexed. She was a tier two expert at the third array who cared deeply for her son. "I'll kill you!" She exclaimed however before she could even get off her seat, she fell unconscious onto the floor.
Orsen looked at her before getting off his seat. "Well it was amusing for housing me Rey Winchester but I've overcome my stay." He said as he put a potion on the table. "Take it when the time is right." He finished off before making his exit.
Staying there any longer could would only bring more harm than good so he opted to leave as soon as possible. He therefore went out and looked for an inn elsewhere. It didn't take him long before finding one and a cheap one at that. Its expenses were 50 copper quartz per week which was more than affordable for him considering his he still had 50 silver quartz.
He wasted the day away in his room as he covered the entire world with his omnipotent senses and found what he had been looking for. Ashley was already on his radar but along with that was someone else of great use to him. As for the scenario where he had killed Damian and Rosalind Scarletborne, he knew that it would play out working in his favor sooner or later.
It was already night time when he heard a knock at his door. Checking who it was, he had a few speculations on who it could be. Opening it, he was greeted by the guards of the kingdom of Aurorise. 'One of two.' He thought as he saw them.
"Are you identified as Orsen Winchester?" One of the guards asked as he looked at Orsen. "I do." He responded. "I'm going ask you to come with us as several claims have been raised against you." Orsen complied and followed the guards to their coach. There were a total of five guards each with a tier three rank. He got on and he was whisked away.
…
"You'll stay in here." One of the guards that had escorted told him signaling at one of the cells present. It was dilapidated with one other person in there with him. The bars for the cells had a tier four restraint to them making it capable of holding some tier four culprits or below. He was frisked before entering the cell but they couldn't find anything on him.
…
There was a small window which was barred that allowed light into the cell allowing him to view the stars. As he enjoyed his own solitude, he could sense his unexpected friend move closer to him. Upon opening his eyes, the man who was approaching him suddenly stopped in his tracks.
"What are you in here for? What trouble could a kid cause to have him on the death row?" He asked haughtily with a revolting smile on his face. Orsen remained silent as he continued to watch the stars through the small window before falling asleep. The man he had for company in this cube of his had trashed attire, shaggy hair and an eye watering revolting stench around him.
Orsen remained unaffected by this as he slept through it. "Hah!" The man suddenly lunged towards Orsen who seemed to be sleeping but he jolted wide awake as responded accordingly to the man's attack. "A cry of agony could be heard coming from the cell however it was short-lived before silence reigned once more.
