Chapter 252 - Chapter 252: Boss Dai Demoted to Mubai

Chapter 252: Boss Dai Demoted to Mubai

Star Luo City.

"Your Highness, let me feed you!"

"Alright, alright, my beauty. With such sweet wine, why don't we enjoy it together?"

Inside the residence of the third prince, Dai Mubai, the air was filled with decadent sounds, utterly inappropriate for the ears.

After Zhu Zhuqing left in disappointment, Dai Mubai did reflect on himself for a short while and even dedicated a few days to cultivating his soul power. However, he soon relapsed under various temptations.

Not long after, the Clear Sky Sect, due to warnings from the Spirit Hall, chose to seal itself off once more. This was another heavy blow to Dai Mubai. Although Emperor Xingluo, out of respect for the Clear Sky Sect, did not strip him of his soul power or exile him to a remote town as a failed heir, it was clear that he no longer favored him.

Without a strong backing, Dai Mubai soon spiraled into the same self-destructive lifestyle he had once lived in Soto City, indulging in debauchery, draining his body, and stagnating in his cultivation. Nearly four years had passed since the Soul Master Tournament, and while Tang San—who had been two levels below him back then—had already broken through to Soul King, Dai Mubai was still stuck at the upper edge of the Soul Ancestor realm, completely squandering his innate level-nine talent.

"You've fallen so far, Mubai. You've truly disappointed me!"

Just as Dai Mubai was sharing a drink, mouth-to-mouth, with one of his attendants, a thunderous rebuke echoed through the hall. In the next moment, the tightly shut doors swung open without warning, and a figure strode in briskly.

It was a young man, no older than twenty, with dark blue hair cascading down his shoulders. His features were strikingly handsome, and he stood over 1.9 meters tall, broad-shouldered, with a well-proportioned physique. His sapphire-like eyes, however, were filled with deep disappointment.

The newcomer was none other than Tang San.

After leaving Slaughter City with Tang Hao, Tang San had returned to the sect and presented the Clear Sky Order that Xiao Yu had given Tang Hao, announcing the sect's reemergence and his recognition as a direct descendant. Furthermore, he had been chosen as the next sect master's successor.

No one dared question the authority of the Clear Sky Sect's legendary figure, Tang Hao, especially when he held the Clear Sky Order—the very symbol of Tang Chen's status. Unless Tang Chen himself had perished, the Clear Sky Order could not have fallen into anyone else's hands.

To the disciples of the Clear Sky Sect, Tang Chen was an invincible legend. None of them believed that anyone could kill him. Since Tang Hao spoke in his name, even the previously most vocal elders had no choice but to accept it.

Thus, Tang San, now the Young Sect Master of the Clear Sky Sect, had surpassed Dai Mubai in status, reducing his title from Boss Dai to merely Mubai.

"Who are you?"

Dai Mubai's eyes narrowed slightly, his Evil Eyes flashing coldly as he stared at Tang San. His tone was icy as he asked.

He had never seen Tang San after his Blue Silver Emperor had awakened, and he mistook him for some royal envoy sent to lecture him.

Tang San knew that his appearance had changed drastically and didn't bother to explain. Instead, he directly released his Blue Silver Emperor and Clear Sky Hammer martial souls.

"Now do you recognize me?"

"Xiao San, you're Xiao San!"

Dai Mubai shot to his feet, shoving aside the attendant still clinging to him. He strode over to Tang San, his eyes wide in disbelief, almost popping out of their sockets as he scanned Tang San up and down.

Yet, he could barely find any traces of the friend he once knew. Unable to contain his curiosity, he blurted out, "Xiao San, what happened to you these past years? Why have you changed so much?"

Tang San did not answer immediately. Instead, his gaze shifted toward the attendants still lingering behind Dai Mubai.

Dai Mubai understood immediately. With a wave of his hand, he barked at them, "All of you, leave! A distinguished guest has arrived, and no one is to disturb us!"

Once the attendants had all withdrawn, Tang San finally began recounting everything that had happened since the end of the Soul Master Tournament—his father's tragic fate, his mother's true identity, the awakening of his martial soul into the Blue Silver Emperor, his encounters with what he believed to be his great-grandfather Tang Chen in Slaughter City, and the impending return of the Clear Sky Sect.

"Now I understand!"

Dai Mubai suddenly came to a realization. "So, Xiao San, your Clear Sky Sect is planning to openly go to war with the Spirit Hall and Nine Star Hall this time!"

"That's right!"

Tang San's handsome face immediately turned cold and murderous. "The hatred for my parents is irreconcilable. If I don't take revenge, I am not worthy of being called a man!"

"Xiao San, with everything you've achieved now, Uncle Tang and Auntie would be very proud of you if they knew."

Dai Mubai patted Tang San on the shoulder and said, "If there's anything I can do to help, just say the word. As your brother, I'll do everything I can!"

"Mubai, with your intelligence, do you really not know what you can do to help me?"

Tang San looked at Dai Mubai directly and spoke in a deeply regretful tone. "The way you're acting now—if the dean and our teachers knew, would they feel proud of you? And what about Zhuqing? Do you really not care at all about why she left you?"

"I..."

Dai Mubai was momentarily at a loss for words.

"Mubai, we've been brothers for years. I know some words are hard to hear, but precisely because we're brothers, I have to say them!"

Tang San maintained a righteous and solemn expression. There was likely some genuine brotherhood behind his words, but more than that, his primary goal was to help Dai Mubai seize the throne of Star Luo Empire. This way, the Clear Sky Sect could elevate its standing within Star Luo, or even turn the empire into a vassal of the sect.

Now that he was the Young Sect Master of the Clear Sky Sect, his actions naturally had to prioritize the sect's interests.

"Xiao San, I know what you're trying to say."

Dai Mubai sighed. He had heard this kind of lecture too many times before. If it were coming from someone else—like Zhu Zhuqing—he would have lashed out in frustration.

However, Tang San's status was not what it used to be. He was now the Young Sect Master of the Clear Sky Sect, backed by a rank 99 peerless Douluo, and even a god-level ancestor on the verge of breaking through rank 100. This was not someone he could afford to offend.

Moreover, after learning that the Clear Sky Sect possessed such power, the embers of ambition in Dai Mubai's heart, which had nearly died out, were reigniting.

"Xiao San, it's not that I don't want to try; I had just lost all hope. Ever since your Clear Sky Sect was forced to retreat by the Spirit Hall, the forces I painstakingly gathered collapsed overnight. Zhuqing left me out of disappointment, and how could I possibly fight against my older brother and Zhuqing's sister by myself?"

You really think I don't know? Before the Clear Sky Sect left, you were already drowning yourself in alcohol and women. Zhu Zhuqing left because she was disgusted by your behavior!

Listening to Dai Mubai's excuse, Tang San nearly spat in his face.

However, knowing that Dai Mubai was still useful to him, now was not the time to burn bridges. So, he pretended to be unaware and said, "Mubai, this isn't like you at all. The Dai Mubai I know would never give up over such a minor setback. Have you forgotten? Back at the Soul Master Tournament, even when facing the overwhelming power of the Spirit Hall, we never thought of surrendering. Even though we lost, we had no regrets!"
