For the remainder of the business trip, I was by Zeus's side. H. was renovating a fixer-upper right on the beach, not too far from my home. It turned out beautiful, and he made the design without hesitation when I wanted it. Zeus was making it more and more difficult for me to execute my plan.
When we returned to his mansion, I saw that he already had his housekeeper set up for our soon-to-be wedding. I will still wear my wedding dress from before; I just had to change it a bit. Everything was dark and gothic, just how I wanted it.
"Well, well," Eve waltzed into my room without invitation.
"Get out!" I barked while aiding Tanya with her hairpiece.
"Now, now," she hissed, "Wouldn't want to have something bad happen like last time."
I seized a silver hair stick, clenching it tightly if I needed to use it.
"This isn't going to be like last time," I growled, "What makes you think I won't get rid of you once the ring is on my finger?"
Eve's expression turned sadistic and evil. I will not lie. It was attractive.
"Zeus would never get rid of me," Eve replied.
"I know, which is why he's leaving with me once we're married," I cunningly replied, playing with the end of the hair stick along my fingertip.
"What?" Eve winced.
It looked as if that statement of all things hurt her.
"You're lying," she sneered.
"No, I'm not," I giggled, "Zeus is mine. So are Dimitri and your son! Now get out of my room before I make you!"
Eve stormed out, nearly foaming from her mouth because she was angry.
"You're brave, but you know I would have ripped her in half if she even tried touching you," Tanya commented.
"I know," I agreed.
I gently pulled her to me and pecked her on the lips.
"We're going to have fun tonight; it's your wedding night, after all," Tanya smirked.
"Are you sure you don't care about having sex with Zeus?" I asked.
"No, he's not that bad-looking, but I could care less. I thought Roy cared, only to find out he was in love with Callista," she grunted.
I caressed her cheek, "He didn't deserve you."
Tanya smiled, and we embraced in a passionate kiss.
"How is my lovely- oh, I see you sto;e the first kiss," Zeus smiled.
Zeus was handsome. His black shirtless tux exposed his tanned, muscular physique beneath, and his tousled, loosed silver fox hair made him even more enticing. I explained to Tanya how kind he'd been treating me lately, and she encouraged me to find out if it was real or a ploy. If I was being honest, I couldn't tell the difference just yet. Part of my weak demeanor did care for him.
"Then allow me to steal yours too!" Tanya faked while embracing Zeus in a kiss.
How come this didn't bother me? I don't care that she's kissing him. I wouldn't care. How come? What was wrong with me that I only cared truly for Tanya herself?
"I have to be going! Ivy, I'll be right outside with your bouquet," she smiled before disappearing behind my bedroom door.
Zeus walked up to me in mighty stride, wiping the red stain from his lips.
"Your friend has a lot of energy, doesn't she?" he beamed.
"Yes," I blushed, "What brings you here?"
"I wanted to walk my blushing bride to the aisle. After what happened last time, I wouldn't have it any other way," he confessed.
It was annoying, but I knew Zeus wouldn't have it any other way, "Okay."
The entire venture to the first floor with my only bridesmaid, Tanya, made the situation more real. I was getting married to Zeus today. Something I thought would never happen after the last time.
When we were in front of the pastor, I found myself numb, unable to show emotion. It was all a blur until I got up here, to be honest.
"Ivy, I have not done my best to show you how much I love you. From this moment forward, I swear to convey not only my love for you but that I will do anything to keep you safe and in my arms for the rest of my life," Zeus said.
"Ivy, your vows," the pastor spoke.
I froze. I hadn't thought nor cared to write any for this man. I tried to say a bullshit spew of words, but nothing came to mind. I scrambled, nervous, uncertain what to say, until I looked at the groomsmen. Dimitri, Eric, and Reign.
"I-I'm not good with my words," I sighed, "I'm going to try it. I never thought I would get married. No one ever knows what they're going to say."
I fidgeted the bouquet in my hands while biting my bottom lip. Zeus tenderly held my hands in his, looking at me lovingly. It was as if I was possessed by something willing me to speak.
"No matter what, I'll always love you, and I'll always put you first. Until death do us part," I finished.
"Zeus, do you take Ivy to be your lawful, wedded wife til death do you part," the pastor uttered.
"I do," Zeus replied.
"Ivy, do you take Zeus to be your lawfully wedded husband til death, do you part?" the pastor repeated.
I unintentionally hesitated. I licked my lips and took a deep breath of courage.
"I do."
