The churches in the North all accepted this: first, because any Nameless person could become a guarantor for Ails; second, because Ails' undead army was too effective against Nagoth; third, because Ails was recently able to roll tobacco nurtured with Holy Water, a product of the Church of Justice, and Ails said it was very potent, whereas under normal circumstances any Lich would have long since died.
Malin even remembered the interesting scenes when the leaders of the Church of Justice, both great and small, mentioned Ails with puzzled faces.
