"More than you know, and more than I have shown you."
Penny held her breath, staring at Slater. Her brows slowly elevated in surprise. Meanwhile, Slater blinked ever so tenderly.
"Why would you ask such a question, though?" he asked with a slight pout. "Well, I guess I haven't proven that until now, huh?"
"Heh…" Penny let out a shallow laugh, not really sure what he was talking about.
Slater smacked his lips and smiled. "Don't worry. I'll shower you with more love—just don't touch my chocolates and cars."
I never did that. I wouldn't dare.
"Are you leaving now?" he asked, cocking his head to the side. "Wait. Let me walk you out."
"It's okay!" she panicked a little, flinching as she glanced at her parents. She heaved a sigh of relief when they didn't wake up.
"What's wrong with you?" Slater frowned. "I'm just offering to walk you out. No big deal."
Penny smiled at him and cleared her throat. "You should sleep. It's okay. You don't have to."
