"Wait! Miss Miller."
Patricia stopped in her tracks just as she stepped out of the building and turned to look at the person calling her. Rushing toward her was Shawn Lowie, the first applicant in their group.
"Oh, hey there!" Patricia smiled, raising her brows as she blinked at him. "What's up?"
Shawn, a rather large guy, sighed as he offered Patricia a small smile. "About back there… thank you for what you said."
"Huh?" Patricia tilted her head. "What did I say?"
"I mean, your recommendation," he clarified, his smile turning wry and almost apologetic. "I didn't expect you to say my name. After I messed up that third question, I was sure I didn't have a chance anymore. But after everything you said… even if I don't get a call back, I think I'll be fine."
Patricia blinked. Then blinked again.
