In the celestial realm, the goddess Eliin gazed into her crystal orb, her fingers tracing the edges as she observed the world of Sera. This diverse realm, under her divine watch, was home to humans, demihumans, and demons. The land was starkly divided by two major magic types: light and dark. Humans, elves, and dwarves wielded light magic, while demons, orcs, and goblins commanded dark magic. Elemental magic, stemming from the world tree, was a neutral force accessible to all skilled enough to harness it.
Sera was a vibrant world of ancient traditions and stark contrasts. The humans, led by King Ashur and Queen Rhyna, lived in bustling cities, quaint towns, and peaceful villages. The elves, deeply connected to nature and elemental magic, resided in forested areas with their capital nestled in the world tree of Sera. The dwarves, renowned for their craftsmanship and engineering, built fortress-cities into the mountains, governed by the three major clans: Strenstone, Gladenshield, and Goldenaxe.
Demons, once a unified and formidable force, had splintered into factions after the death of their demon lord. Their cities and towns fell into chaos as infighting tore their society apart. Orcs roamed the wastelands in nomadic tribes, each led by a chief whose title could be claimed through combat. Goblins, living in the forests and skilled in elemental magic, often ambushed unsuspecting travelers, utilizing their natural stealth.
As Eliin watched over Sera, she could see the world was in turmoil. She murmured to herself, "The demons... the demons. What are they doing? This is breaking the balance of the world. How did they rally together like this? Wait, what is this, a demon lord? Since when did they have a demon lord..."
Eliin, though a goddess and a watcher of realms, had been bored and didn't pay much attention to Sera, a world in peace and balance. So she often slacked off, and since there was no concept of time in her temple, she didn't notice that tens or even hundreds of thousands of years had passed in Sera. What she didn't know was that ever since the demons lost their leader, they were suppressed by the races of light. These races enslaved them, had them fight as gladiators in arenas for their own entertainment. But when she looked now, she saw a demon lord gathering forces and marching toward the human kingdom of Algran. She was in shock. She looked at the castle and saw the queen, who also appeared panicked.
She whispered to her, "Don't worry, child named Rhyna, Queen of the Humans, I will help you. Gather the mages, and together we will summon a hero from another world. It is only fitting since the demons have a demon lord."
Rhyna, in shock at the sudden whisper out of nowhere, grasped her heart and in a small voice said, "Goddess Eliin, is that you?"
"Yes, child, it is me, Eliin. Now make haste. We need to summon the hero."
Rhyna, with newfound determination, called her advisors and instructed them to gather the kingdom's most powerful mages. Within hours, the grand hall of the castle was filled with robed figures, arcane symbols glowing faintly on the marble floor. The air was thick with the hum of magic as they prepared the summoning ritual.
Eliin watched intently, her ethereal form flickering as she infused the mages with her divine power. "Steady, now," she urged them. "Focus your energy on the portal."
The mages chanted in unison, their voices rising and falling in a hypnotic rhythm. A swirling vortex of light began to form at the center of the room, growing brighter with each passing second. The ground trembled as the fabric of reality stretched and twisted.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the light, collapsing onto the cold stone floor. The portal closed with a thunderous snap, leaving the room in silence.
Rhyna approached the figure cautiously, her heart pounding. "Is this... the hero?"
The figure stirred, revealing a young man clad in strange garments. He looked up, bewildered and disoriented. "Where am I?" he asked, his voice echoing in the hall.
"You are in the kingdom of Algran, in the world of Sera," Rhyna replied, her voice trembling with hope. "We summoned you to help us. Our world is in grave danger."
The young man stood, his eyes slowly adjusting to his surroundings. "A hero?" he murmured, still trying to comprehend his situation. "I was just... at home."
Eliin's voice echoed in the chamber, comforting yet commanding. "Yes, you are the hero we need. The demons have risen under a new demon lord, and their forces threaten to destroy the balance of our world. You must stand against them."
The young man took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. "If you believe I can help, then I will do my best," he said, determination slowly replacing his confusion.
Rhyna nodded, a sense of relief washing over her. "We will do everything we can to aid you. Welcome to Sera, Hero. Together, we shall restore peace."
The hero, still somewhat confused, smiled. "My name is Elias," Elias said.
Rhyna clapped her hands and welcomed the hero once more. "Welcome, hero Elias."
Eliin looked at the scenery from her orb, noticing something dark and menacing. In that moment, a demon appeared next to Elias, grabbed his neck, and broke it like a twig. The demon then laughed loudly and hoarsely. Eliin, enraged, yelled through her orb so all could hear, "How dare you! How dare you defy the goddess's will and break the balance of Sera!"
The demon scoffed at Eliin's words. "I broke the balance? Please... it was the humans, with their disarray and desire to control all, that started this. We demons just chose to fight back. Don't you even know that, Eliin, Watcher of Sera? Don't tell me you were slacking off and not watching what the humans did. Just because they are from the light side, you don't think they can do bad stuff? Light and darkness are the balance of the world, and light can be evil and darkness can be good."
Eliin, even more enraged, demanded, "Who are you?"
"Who, me?" the demon chuckled. "I'm Jakinn, the Demon Lord of Sera. With this action, I have conquered the realm of Sera."
Rhyna fell to her knees, her eyes wide with horror and despair. "No... this can't be happening," she whispered, tears streaming down her face.
Jakinn looked at the humans and said, "Now kneel down and swear that you will all serve me." All the humans in the room looked at Jakinn, then at the corpse of their hero Elias, and then back at their queen, Rhyna, who with tears streaming down her face, kneeled. They all followed suit, kneeling before the demon lord.
In that moment, the doors blasted open, and King Ashur walked in. "Oh, Jakinn," he said with a smile. "Just the devil I was looking for."
"King Ashur," Jakinn responded calmly. "For the crimes that you and your kin have committed against the world of Sera, I, Demon Lord Jakinn, judge you. And the verdict is guilty."
Ashur looked around in anger and yelled, "Why are you all kneeling? Attack him! Kill the demon!" But all the humans just looked at their queen, still kneeling, and decided to remain bowed as well.
Ashur's frustration boiled over. "You fools! I have to do everything myself!" He began a chant, channeling dark energies around him. Jakinn watched with a devilish grin and whispered a short incantation. A sphere of darkness enveloped King Ashur, and within seconds, he vanished.
The goddess Eliin, still watching all of this unfold through her orb, was filled with terror. "How is this possible?" she muttered to herself. The events were unfolding in ways she had not foreseen, and the balance of Sera seemed to be tipping dangerously towards darkness.
Rhyna, still on her knees but now looking up at Jakinn with a mix of fear and defiance, spoke in a trembling voice. "What... what have you done with King Ashur?"
Jakinn chuckled darkly. "He is gone, Queen Rhyna. Consumed by the darkness he sought to control.
Then Jakinn turn around and disappeared. With only his words left behind in there heads. "You all now belong to me, i am the true balance of the world. Let there now be peace on Sera."
Eliin stared at her orb, confusion etched across her face. She couldn't fathom what had just happened. Suddenly, she heard a voice behind her.
"Eliin, you failed your task. But don't worry, I have brought balance and peace back to Sera."
Eliin spun around, her eyes widening in shock. "Jakinn? How are you here? How did you know about the hero summoning?"
Jakinn chuckled, a sly smile playing on his lips. He paused for a moment before responding. "It's easy for me to travel wherever I want now. As for the hero summoning, Sera told me. Well, the World Tree on Sera, to be precise. And before your so-called hero could break the balance I worked so hard to rebuild, I snapped his neck."
Eliin's breath caught in her throat. "You... killed him?"
Jakinn nodded, his expression turning serious. "Yes. Now that the balance is restored, do your job and watch over it. I will not fix your mistakes again."
Eliin swallowed hard, the weight of his words sinking in. She nodded slowly, understanding the gravity of her failure and the importance of her duty.
