Alexander's POV
I took a deep breath and stood up. My waist is killing me. I've been working too much lately and have had sleepless nights.
I look at Travis. He was busy stirring his coffee. I grab my coffee and open the window. Spring is approaching sooner than I expected.
"Your Majesty, you've been here for a while. Are you not going to invite your soon-to-be wife? I think she's waiting for you to invite her," Travis says. I laugh and look at him.
"Why would I invite a woman who can't even live up to my expectations? If not for my mom, I wouldn't even agree. You know how persistent the queen was when she assigned noble ladies to be our future wives."
He sighed and handed me bread. "Your Highness, Lady Angelica might be unruly and gloomy, but I know your mother didn't choose her for any reason. Look what happened to the crown prince, second prince, and fifth prince who chose the woman they liked," he elaborated, looking at me meaningfully.
