Samantha woke up alone in bed the next morning with a groan, feeling like she had been personally stomped on by an entire werewolf pack—again. Every muscle in her body screamed in protest as she tried to roll over.
"Nope. Not happening," she muttered, flopping back onto the mattress dramatically.
A deep chuckle came from beside her. She cracked one eye open to see Marcus propped up on an elbow, watching her with an infuriatingly amused expression.
"You look like death," he observed, brushing his fingers lazily through her hair.
"Thanks, babe," she grumbled. "Exactly what every woman wants to hear first thing in the morning."
"Breakfast?" he offered, completely unfazed by her suffering.
Samantha groaned. "If it's blood, I'm going to throw you out the window." Ever since she realized she had a choice of what to eat after becoming a Hybrid, she chose human food and thought she would never go back to blood again.
Marcus smirked. "I'd like to see you try in your current state."
