Rain stayed at Lamey Country, overseeing her mother's treatment alongside her father. Unlike before, her father had regained much of his health. Gone were the days when he had lost weight and sported dark circles under his eyes. It was clear to anyone that he was in a much better condition, both physically and emotionally.
"Seriously, you got your appetite from your mom. Summer was a glutton," Arlan joked as he watched Rain eat her lunch with him and Alexander in Summer's room.
Rain pouted and defended herself, "Dad, I'm eating this much because I've got two babies inside of me."
Arlan's eyes lit up with joy at that fact. He still couldn't quite believe he was going to be a grandfather. He turned to Summer, who lay unconscious in her bed and spoke softly to her.
"You hear that, darling? Our daughter's having twins! You need to wake up soon so you can meet them." Arlan's voice was filled with hope and excitement.
