I felt intense pain in my solar plexus and headache, as well as numbness in several parts of my body. I tried to get up so I could finish the fight with the vampire, but it was another voice I heard, not that of the bastard.
"Don't move yet, Puppy. You're hurt badly."
Thank God! Uncle Ray found me. Did that mean the operation was over? Did we manage to get rid of those bastards?
"Where am I?"
"Why don't you obey my orders, huh? Don't you know that they're very dangerous?" scolded Uncle Ray, to which I only replied with a heavy sigh.
I slowly opened my eyes wider to confirm my whereabouts and ensure this wasn't a dream. Uncle Ray looked at me with a worried look. He then grabbed my fingers for him to hold.
"Did we get rid of them?" I asked, and Uncle Ray shook his head.
"My intuition told me something happened to you, and after finding you unconscious, I pulled back the troops. Your safety came first," he replied with a sad look that he couldn't hide.
"What happened?" I asked.
