"You again? What do you want? Why do you always come and see me?" the girl asked when she saw me in her room. She didn't seem to like it, but I didn't care. I wouldn't let her go free until Ioris returned.
"I'll keep an eye on you because Ioris—the girl you swapped place with is my mate, especially while Ray is busy with the pack."
The girl chuckled. "Mate, you say? I know you're from the same race as me, and using the word mate for a vampire is nonsense. Is it those snouted humans who have indoctrinated you?" she asked, still mockingly.
"She is my reborn lover," I replied, and she widened her eyes. "She is the Saint who will bear offspring for me."
This time, she didn't laugh or respond in the same way as before; she just blinked and fell silent.
"Then who is the other guy who looks like Ray in my world?"
"His name is Ray, and he's an alpha werewolf."
