Chapter 331: Part One
The dark night was shrouded in blackness as the shadow floated directly over Weixing Mountain. A gust of wind swept across the ground, and a group of people quickly chased after the shadow toward the foot of the mountain.
"Sir, he slipped away again—," Yu Yuan lamented with hands hanging and feet stomping in regret.
Ju Nanyi glanced at the now tranquil night sky, his expression serious. He was almost certain that this shadow was deliberately leading them out, and these past days, although the appearances of the shadows had been irregular, it was clear they were toying with them.
Why was that?
Ju Nanyi didn't know the answer. He didn't understand why the shadow would do this, and compared to previous encounters, this shadow was especially cunning, slipping away right under their watch, not merely escaping but provoking them.
Ju Nanyi felt that if this ghostly shadow could laugh, then the sounds it emitted would be a chilling mockery of them.
