"Miss Lawrence, please wait," Officer Jenkins shouted as he ran after Sienna. He was utterly guilty. It was his fault that his subordinate had dared to pull such a stunt.
"Yes, Officer Jenkins?" Sienna folded her hands as she stood still, looking at him in hostility. All the respect she had for him vanished. All that remained was animosity and disgust.
"I'm sorry, Miss Lawrence. I should have..."
"Officer Jenkins, save your breath. I don't want to listen to your apology. I don't think I can handle it." Sienna didn't allow him to speak. Although she didn't trust him before, she at least had some hopes. Maybe, just maybe he'd help her find her family's murderers.
But now, she had nothing. All her hopes died the moment she realized what had happened. The police weren't helping her in any way. Instead, they were only adding more to her troubles.
