After scouring San Francisco for over a month, Athena could find no trace of Medusa. Not even the faintest echo of her presence remained. When she questioned Dionysus, all she received was a frustratingly simple, "I don't know."
Unlike Poseidon, Athena possessed the intellect to approach the situation strategically. "Find out all the shipping information from Dionysus's vineyard for the last three months," she instructed.
She knew Dionysus well and understood his complex feelings towards the demigods. He despised the gods and goddesses for their neglect, which was why he maintained a carefully constructed neutrality on Earth.
He never openly sided with Olympus or any demigods or immortals. But Athena knew he was subtly helping them live comfortably on Earth. And it was clear someone was assisting him, because providing false identities or erasing existing ones was no simple task.
