Even though Amon had landed a decisive strike and reduced the Foolish Lich to nothing but embers, he didn't feel fulfilled. The reason for his nonchalance was quite simple… the necrotic energy of the cave wasn't dissipating, which could mean only one thing.
"He's still alive."
Amon spat, clearly annoyed by the tenacity of the Foolish Lich. Even in [Bright], the real strength of the Foolish Lich wasn't his magic power or ability to command a large undead army. But instead, his ability to constantly revive. For a Lich, as long as his Spirit Vessel was intact, it could never experience a 'true' death. All that Amon's actions would do was destroy its physical state while leaving its astral one alive and well.
And sure enough…
