The spell weave spread out of its own volition. It sought, not knowing what it sought. It reached deep into crevices that had not been explored, let alone touched, in eons.
Rachel and Helena watched it all in intense curiosity. They made note of interesting points shown to them by the spell. Helena nodded.
"There is much at work within the far reaches of Zala." She looked to the dimension's human incarnation.
"I think that you need to have these areas maintained more often. I saw in the past you had natives from all of your offspring assigned to do this. Why has this practice stopped?"
Zala's beautiful face was now even more radiant. The color returned to it after so much time of quiet suffering. She looked to Helena with a deep, grateful, and calm smile.
"Those days are almost forgotten. It was Trannisa who demanded that it be done. She said that I was their last line and without me …"
She stopped speaking. Nostalgia causing the words to get caught in her throat.
