Celeste had felt a tightness in her chest, and Jordan started to rise from his seat, moving toward a cabinet where he rummaged to look for something hidden inside. But she couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something more to the story. The feeling of reading a book and then missing the last two or three chapters.
Only in her case, she knew what would happen next, and all she needed now was to read to know for certain the details of events, not just an idea of how it ended. Still, when she asked Jordan about it, he had simply shrugged it off.
"You know what happened, Celeste," he said simply, before moving on.
"No. I don't know. I was too young," Celeste replied, protesting.
