2025 barely got the chance to alert Grace about the system's recent findings, when another shriek pierced the air... and this one didn't belong to the monster that was on its way to attack rune.
Grace stiffened. She didn't need the system to find out that there was more than one monster hiding in there.
From the far end of the cathedral, another creature emerged. It was larger than the first one, its skeletal frame wrapped in dark sinewy flesh. Its hollow, glowing eyes were fixated on her with a predatory hunger. Its elongated fingers, tipped with black talons, scraped against the stone floor, sending sparks flying.
And the monster was not alone... if the shrieks following it were to be taken into account.
Two more creatures slithered from the ruined pillars, their grotesque forms shifting in and out of the shadows as if the very air bent to their will.
