I stood outside the gates of the New Dawn Sanctuary, surrounded by survivors, cranky as hell.
The guys had determined that all of us going as one giant group would set off a bunch of warning bells. Apparently, nine men and one little girl would have been suspicious. So, instead of me surrounded by my men, I was surrounded by people who hadn't showered in like a hundred years.
"I hate this," I grumbled, looking down at Tank. "This is stupid."
The Hellhound looked up at me and whined softly, butting my hand with his head as he tried to console me. "It took forever for all of us to be in one place at one time, and now it's all of a sudden okay to split up again?"
My hand gripped the leash I was holding tighter as I tried to work past the rage that was building inside of me. I really should have let the house kill all the MC when I had the chance. Then I wouldn't be out here, in the heat, dealing with stupid people.
That will teach me to be merciful and nice.
