Chang Xuefeng looked at me, an indulgent smile on his face even as he brushed back my hair. "Whatever Princess wants," he assured me, even as we all heard the sound of a 'crunch'. Turning, we all looked at where Jonas had accidentally stepped on a skull left over from the soldiers.
It must have still had an eye in its socket because the pressure from Jonas' foot sent it flying onto the floor. The hounds, thinking that they had found a new game, started chasing after it. Unable to dig into the hard marble floors, their claws slipped, sending them sliding in different directions, even as their mouths tried to get the eye.
